Fresh from a win over the world champions Queens of Phoenix, Arizona, whom the Shamrocks defeated by a score of 2 to 0, Tuesday night at Gar-- 1 anad should make tonight's ball game a natural. Against the battery of Wilms Freston pitching and Gene Farney catching, the Queens from Arizona, were unable to score during the shut out game against the Shamrocks, who boasted strong local talent in Fay Tazoi of Garland, Flo Grov-e- r Loveland of East Garland and Jolene Gardner of Deweyville. During the war, Mr. Smith served in the army in Japan and the Philippines. In 1951 he graduated from the University of Utah and received a Ph. D. degree. He also received a Fellowship appointment to Harvard University, where lie has been doing research work during the last two years.
