This announcement was made hereto today by Fred A. Knut-sepresident of the Federal Land Bank of Spokane, and chairman of the 50th Anniversary Steering Committee. The Federal Land Banks were established in 1917 by the Farm Loan Act as a farmers' cooperative credit system. Completely farmer-owne- d and operated, the Land Banks provide long-terfarm mortgage loans on a amortized basis to persons engaged in agriculture. Funds used in the lending operations of the Banks are obtained from the sale of Land Bank bonds to the investing public.
