Show The Leader HARRIS FAMILY REUNION HELD The family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Harris of , - . Ore., Mr. and Mrs. Moore (LeOra) of Idaho Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ward (Marjorie) of Ogden and Moran. Besides visiting, enjoying a picture show and program activities were boating, water horse-sho- e skiing, river-ridinpitching and volley ball. Delicious meals were served on picnic tables in the pines and the reunion was considered very successful and enjoyable, however, during the course of events, Lonnie McClure, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Moore was taken to Jackson Hole where he underwent an emergency operation for appendicitis Saturday evening at the hospital there. He is reported to have been taken to his home Friday at Iona, Ida. Following the reunion Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Harris and family of Springfield, Ore, Mrs. Virgil Harris of Portage, Mr. and Mrs. Phil R. Harris of Logan, Lorfhy and Denece Gleed of Malad and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ward and son of Pocatello and Mr. and Mrs. LeeRoy Pett-ingi- ll and family of Owyhee, to Yellowstone Nev., National Park and returned Wednesday night. field, Glenna Andersen and Scott Maughan Set August Date Mr. and Mrs. Stanley H. of Tremonton anAndersen nounce the engagement and g marriage of their daughter, Glenna, to Mr. Scott Maughan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Maughan of Garland, Utah. The couple have set August 12th as the date of their wedding which will be solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temforth-comin- ple. They will be honored at a reception that evening in the Tremonton Fifth Ward Cultural Hall. Tne bride to be is a graduate of Bear River High School and L.D.S. Seminary where she was an officer for four years. She has attended Utah State University and is presently employed in Tremonton. Mr. Maughan is also a graduate of Bear River High School and L.D.S. Seminary. He has fulfilled an L.D.S. Mission to New Zealand and has completed two years at Utah State University where he plans to continue his studies this fall. MOTHER'S BIRTHDAY BRINGS PHONE CALLS Mrs. Richard A. Calderwood was surprised of Tremonton and happy Saturday, July 24th, Ahen her children called to tfish her a happy birthday. ' rett, secretary SHOWER HONORS BRIDE-ELECBride-elec- t, Nan Oyler, was honored Thursday evening at a Kitchen Bridal Shower. The shower was held at the home in Garland. of Susan Jensen Assisting Susan were Judy Garfield and Jaci Oyler. The 20 present were entertained and served refreshments on the patio of the Jensen home. Special guests were Mrs. Rita Oyler of Ogden and three grandmothers, Mabel Oyler of Tremonton, Dora Shaffer of East Garland and Mrs. Roy Hawkes of Portage. DINNER HONORS BIRTHDAY Mrs. Minnie Potter accompanied by her daughters, Rita Maxine and Taylor, Stagge, Lila Lee Kearl, all of Ogden; Minne Mae Norr of Deweyville, Donna Adams and Evelyn Watt of Brigham City enjoyed dinner at Maddox Ranch House Thursday evening. The dinner was in honor of Mrs. Minnie Mae Norr's birthday. BIRTHS EGGLI over the arrival of a baby girl born Monday, July Lott 26, are Floyd and Bea Eggli of Bothwell. The tiny Miss has one brother. That evening the bridal couple greeted guests at a beautiful garden reception in North Las Vegas,- Nev. The bride is a graduate of Rancho High School and Seminary. The groom is a graduate of Bear River High School and Seminary, has fulfilled an LDS Mission to Southern California, has attended college at USU, Centrallia College in Washington, and is now attending the College of Southern Nevada. HONORED Miss Carol Christensen was honored last Friday evening at a bridal shower at the Tremonton Third Ward Relief Society Room. Hosting the shower were Lana Christensen, Gay Larson, and Mrs. Willis Christensen. Sixty guests were present for the shower. The local council under the guidance of Arlene Ficklin as chairman has reached 141 of the $1600 minimum goal set, with a total credit of $2248.42. The annual Burbank family reunion has been announced for Saturday, Aug. 7 at Willow Park in Logan, (6th South 4th West). Members of the family are asked to meet at the park at 10:30. and bring a photo, story or keepsake of their ancestors to participate in a "Show and Tell" program.
