Show Leader Family Plan Survey Leader family members new and renewals this week include Ten school districts in the northern and eastern sections of Utah have joined together for a study of their educational needs with the goal of identifying ways of strengthening the education which is provided for the students. The ten school districts which are participating in this project are Box Elder, Rich, Daggett, North Summit, South Summit, Park City, Wasatch, Duchesne and Uintah. With funds supplied by the Federal Government under the authority of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of an advisory committee 1965, consisting of the superintendents or their representatives from each district have hired a staff consisting of J. Burdett Johnson, Director; Reese Thomas. Assistant Director; Clarice McDonald, Office Manager; and Marie Bennett, Secretary. The offices have been established in Heber City which is centrally located in the participating districts. The goal of the staff is to assist the participating school districts as they attempt to identify areas for possible improvement and then coordinate the necessary research and services to effect proa stronger educational gram. Mr. Johnson, the director, has moved to Heber City from the University of Wyoming at Laramie where he was a staff memlier doing work in personalizing instruction and developin ing programs to be used public school improvements. Mr. Johnson graduated from the College of Southern Utah and earned his Master's Degree at I tali State University. He has been pursuing a Doctorate in curriculum and instruction at the University of Wyoming. Ho has had extensive teaching experience in the public schools as well as with the university. a graduate of Mr. Thomas, University, Young Bi'igliam earned his Master's Degree at the University of Oregon. He brings to the project experi ence in teaching elementary and secondary school as well as working as a school counselor for a mimljer of years. During the past year he was Portland. in doing Oregon, work toward a Doctorate and working as a consultant in the area of group processes and environment in the Portland public schools. Clarice McDonald, the office manager, adds strength to the research center in the area of office- - procedures and office organization as a result of her at Brigham Young training University and extensive practical experience. Dr. Charles whose American home is in Minnesota, has returned to the United States for a year's furlough from missionary service. Rev. Mosebrook will speak Methodist at the Community Church in Tremonton on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited. Dr. Mosebrook went to the Philippines as a Professor of New Testament at Union Thein ological Seminary, Manila, 1947 for a year, during which Union he time Church of Manila. Since 1948 he has been Field Treasurer of the World Division of the Methodist Board of Missions. For nine years, he was one of the pasMethodist tors of the Central Church in Manila. Before his appointment to the Philippines, Dr. Mosebrook had served as a missionary at Wesley Methodist Church in Kuala Lumpur. Malaya, from 1939 to 1941. During the war he was affiliated with the Board of Missions in the United States, working the Cultivation Section. Born in St. Paul, Minn., Dr. Mosebrook was graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul with a B.A. degree, and Garrett Seminary. Theological Kvanslnn. Illinois, with a B.D. degree. He holds an honorary D.I) degree from Hamline. Before becoming a missionary. Dr. Mosebrook was pastor of Methodist churches in Minndeesota. Mich for tool ing and manufacturing of prototypes of its Dynastar diesel engine Thiokol has been working on the development of this engine for a number of years and has an engine undergoing in evaluation a U.S. Coast Guard boat, ll also has delivery commitments for other evalua lion tests The fir-- t protohpe-tbe produced under this ordci will be used to secure addi in the mar lional field serv ine field, seis and other uses prior to release for full production The Dynastar engine is based on a unique concept of "true motion frame" which results in a dynamically stable engine weighing less and occupying less space than contemporary diesels. The prototype weighs 4 pounds per horsepower. English and first year German instructor at Bear River Junior High School He is acting as Faculty Representative for the Junior High this year. Mr. Wells received his earlv education at Willard. He graduated from Box Elder High School, then graduated from Utah State University. He holds a BS degree with a major in English and a minor in German. Mr. Wells served in the Army of World War II. His military career took him to Fort Old, Calif.. Fort Belvoir, Va . then to Korea and Alaska and back to Colorado. at Mr. Wells has taught Union Roosevelt High School where he instructed classes in English and German. He was advisor of the Junior Class. He served as secretary of the Union Education Association. This is the second year for Mr. Wells at Bear River Junior High. He is married to the former Ingeborg Walchtler of Germany. Mrs. Wells escaped from East Germany to freedom. They are the parents of seven children.
