Show Class EAST GARLAXD By Mrs. Eph Petersen Old Folks Entertained The Old Folks Committee and members of the Relief Society of the ward entertained the Old Folks at the Garland Banquet rooms, Saturday. A delicious chicken dinner was served at noon with places laid for 63. A program was presented by the Stake committee in the chapel and then they were taken to the picture show. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Edvalson of Ogden were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Rhodes. Mrs. J. P. Christensen accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood to Ogden Friday where they visited Isabel Allred who had recently undergone a major operation at the Dee Hospital. Dora Anger accompanied them and stayed on and Cpal Garn, who had been with her sister, returned home with them. Sheep Win Ribbons Dick Oyler exhibited a black angus and Kent and Dan Shaffer 3 herfords and Reed Pierson five lambs at the Junior Fat Stock Show at North Salt Lake Wednesday and Thursday. The Shaffer family were there both days. Reed took three blue and two red ribbons on his lambs. Eva and Jerry Wilde came up from Salt Lake City Friday evening and accompanied the Shaffers on a fishing trip up East Canyon, Saturday. The J. W. Rhodes entertained members of their family at dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wood and family of Cheyenne, Wyo., were home, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rhodes of Layton, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Fryer of Bountiful, and Mrs. Gerry Summers of Tremonton and their families. Members of the ward and stake Relief Society boards, Rhodes, Louise Harper, Ann Sorensen, Merle Larson, Letitia Sorensen, Lottie Potter and Ruth Holman were in Salt Lake City Tuesday for the tour through welfare square and Des-erclothing factory. Na-Vel- le et The Special Interest class held a delightful pot luck smorgasbord at the home of the class president, Mrs. Dorris Petersen, Friday evening. Ora Fay Iverson and Beth Brown recently returned from the Swedish Mission showed slides of Swedish scenes. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Oyler and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Wood in Brigham City. The two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler Jr. of Idaho are on vacation with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler Sr. Mrs. Lyle Johnson and children of Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Shaffer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Anderson and family enjoyed an outing in Logan Canyon, Sunday. Frank Hall and daughter Annette of Huntington and a friend of Ferron were at the Frank Hall home Sunday and Monday. Mrs. Mart Riser and Lynn, Bud Grover and fiancee, Rose Marie Alpizar were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Grover in Ogden. Bride Elect Honored Miss Yetta Karen Peterson, Mrs. Helen Johnson and Mrs. Erma Anderson were hostesses at a Bride's personal shower for Barbara Shaffer, Friday evening at the Jasper Shaffer home. The evening was spent making a bride's book and refreshments were served. The guest of honor received many beautiful and useful gifts. Mrs. Orval Grover started summer school at the U.S.A. C. Monday morning. Mrs. Bud Hess and children of Grace, Ida., visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson, Friday. Mrs. Henry Sorensen and Betty Jean were Ogden visitors, Friday.
