Show THE LEADER. Tremonion. Utah BOTHWELL By Mrs. Arvilla Stark FAMILY HONORS SERVICE MAN Pvt. Ted Stark Jr. left Salt Lake City Tuesday morning for A.S.A. School at Fort Devins, Mass. On Sunday his mother entertained at a turkey dinner in his honor and on Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larson of Corinne gave a dinner for him prior to his leaving. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Smith and family of Kaysville spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Stokes. On Sunday the family spent the day in Garland with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larson. It was Mr. Larson's birthday anniversary. Mrs. Tennie Summers and and Mr. and Mrs. Odell Cooper and family of Salt Lake City were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Summers Sunday. .Verlyn Adams and son Dennis received word from their husband and father, Reed La-Ve- ra 2 for Adams, who is stationed in France, that he has been promoted to a Corporal. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Call of Layton spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Firth. Mrs. Dean Anderson spent three days of last week in the hospital. She is at home now and improving. Mrs. Max Anderson was pleasWednesday antly surprised when a large number of her friends came to spend a belated birthday with her. Mrs. Anderson was in the hospital with a new baby on her birthday. Those who called were Mrs. Don Jepperson and son, Clearfield, Mrs. Leo Young and R. H. Ridd, Brigham, and H. E. Berchtold, Earl Berchtold, Park Stumm and Roy Holland, Tremonton. The ladies brought pot luck lunch and spent the day visiting. The Primary conference was presented in the Ward chapel Sunday night. Mrs. Ellen Christensen was pleasantly surprised Thursday night, when the officers and teachers of the Primary gave a party for her at the home of Eleda Vee Stokes. There were 17 ladies present. They presented Mrs. Christensen with a lovely gift. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Harris and Dorothy Harris were Ogden visitors Wednesday. On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Harris were in Brigham on business. Deloras Bishop and Mrs. ' Stokes and Mrs. Polly Smith were in Salt Lake City Monday. New Babies Blessed Babies receiving names in meeting Sunday were Eli Hol land Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Anderson and Jackie Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Anderson. Both fathers blessed their babies. Friday night, Mr. and Mrs Max Anderson met Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ruse Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Merril Porter of Mor gan at Maddox Cafe in Brigham for a dinner party. Joyce Stark gave a party Monday night for Earl Nelson, honoring him on his birthday, Those present were Boyd and Chyrl Marble, Jean and Stan ley Stark, Odell and Ethel Sum mers, Norma and LeRoy Firth, and DelRay and Arleen Stark. Dr. and Mrs. John Martineau and family of Morgan visited Sunday with Mrs. Ella Ander son. Mrs. Jean Stark spent with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Parker of Brigham. Mr. and Mrs. George Sum mers and Verlyn Adams and son Dennis spent Saturday in Smithfield at the home of Mr: and Mrs. Glen Henry. Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Anderson and Mrs. Stewert Young were visiting in Salt Lake City Monday. Mrs. Ruby Scholer and Janet Vincent of Salt Lake City spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Ted Stark and Lila Lee. Rudger Forsgren has been ill the past week. His brother Olie Forsgren and Leo Lund from Brigham visited with him Wednesday. Mrs. Wallace Anderson is at home after spending several days last week in the hospital with a severe strep throat. Mrs .Margaret Forsgren and Mrs. Dell Cunningham visited in Logan Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson visited with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bosley Sunday. "With three billion dollars now being spent on research every year, and with major progress now coming in the biological and human sciences, big changes are ahead," he says. Give Dance Festival The M.I.A. dance festival with the theme of "Mardi Gras" was well attended, Tuesday night. Primary youngsters joined with those of Mutual age in a variety of dances and a tango was performed by out of town couples. The dances were .under the direction of Miss Delores Nielsen and Mrs. Darlene Zinck. Mrs. Orpha Ault visited Sunday afternoon with her family, Mr. and Mrs. Duett Loveland and Gary, Brigham City, and Mr. and Mrs. John Becker, Ogden.
