Show THE LEADER, and DEWKYVIU.E By Mrs. Wayne Fryer neighbors rally to aid victims of destructive fire "A friend in need is a friend Indeed,'" so the old saying goes. Melvin Barrus can well testify to this. Last week the fire at the Barrus farm consumed about nine tons of hay, hay that Melvin had worked hard thinning beets and doing other work to buy for his animals this winter. Just when life really seemed at its darkest, tractors pulling loads of bay and trucks loaded with bales of hay, all which had been given by neighbors, began to arrive at the Barrus home. Teacher and Deacon friends of Melvin's had all joined in to lend a helping hand. Makes a person realize this old world isn't in such a bad state, after all.
