Show THE LEADER. Thursday, March 19, 1953 Thatcher Maurine Wight Gold Star Mother Honored Mr. and Mrs. Alben Borgstrom traveled t o Ogden Tuesday where they attended a Gold Star Mother's Banquet. On Wednesday they were honored at a Gold Star Tea held in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Alec Boulton and family of Ogden visited Saturday with Bishop and Mrs. James Wight. Mr. and Mrs.. Nolan George of Brigham City were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Adams. Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson and family visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs J. J. Thompson of Garland. Mrs. Nelda Newman who, with her two children, Julia Ann and Gregor"i have been making their home with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn O. Clark, moved this week into the Oscar Christensen home in BothwelL Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McNeeley visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Shellabarger and family of Roy Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Elderidge of Twin Falls, Idaho visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Petersen Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Compton and Camille visited in Brigham City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Jensen were Salt Lake City business visitors Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Aroat Bennett of Preston, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Merrill of Pocatello, Idaho spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Petersen and family. Mrs. Isaac Roderick of Port age spent from Monday to Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. La Vor Johnson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Roche and family were business visitors in Brigham City Friday. WILMA HAWKES IN HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. Alben Borg strom visited their daughter, Mrs. Wilma Hawkes in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. hospital Wed nesday. Mrs. Hawkes is report ed slightly improved after un dergoing a major operation. Mr and Mrs. William Watt visited in Brigham City Mon day. The Thatcher Relief Society celebrated the organization's birthday with a delightful party Monday evening m the Thatch er ward hall. Games were en joyed and a delicious buffet luncheon was served to a large crowd. The ladies in charge of the evenings fun were Mrs Verna Wood, Mrs. Relia Petersen, Mrs. Lula Didericksen and Mrs. I vy Christensen. Miss Melba Stephenhagen of Logan was a weekend guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elden Borgstrom. Miss Delilah Watt and Mrs. Ray Gibbs of Promontory were Logan visitors Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. George Thornley were Salt Lake City visitors Friday. Mrs. Joan Waldron and children, Tommy, Connie and Shawna are visiting Mrs. Wald-ron- 's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark "Wilden of Cortez, Colorado. Mrs. Frances McNeeley, Sally and Allen, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McNeeley of Thatcher, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Egiey of Penrose. Mrs. Porter Christensen and baby, Carol Lee, and Mrs. Virgil Jeppson of Brigham City, visited Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Christensen Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Boyd Borgstrom's mother, Mrs. Ada Petersen, and her sister Norma of Salt Lake City visited Mr. and Mrs. Borgstrom Sunday. Mrs. Lester Wight was pleasantly surprised Saturday afternoon when one of her former students of North Sanpete high school, Joe Jensen and Miss Gloria Winthon, now of the University of Utah, called upon her for a short visit.
