GOP Approval At County Meet Candidates to represent the Republican Party on the ticket this November election were, named at the primary nominating convention Saturday night Jn Brigham City. Clilton O. M. Kerr and Ross Bowen won the nomination for the state senator's post, and Carroll Williams and Lewis S. Wight will run for the office of 2 year commissioner. Watkins was the keynote speaker, laying emphasis on the importance of this coming election. Dr. A. Searl Callister, who is seeking the nomination for Governor was also a featured speaker. He was born December 21, 1876 in Bear River City, a son of Peter P. Andersen and Anna Marie Neilson. He was reared and edu- cated in Bear River City and spent his entire life there. He served as a councilman on the town board for four years and at the time of his death was an elder in the Bear River City Ward. He married Mary Cristensen November 27, 1901 In Bear River City. She died August 29, 1910. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. v On June 27, 1912 he married Elizabeth Baldwin in the Logan Temple. He is survived by his widow of Bear River City and the following sons and daughters. Burton Andersen, Bear River City, Lewis Andersen, Bothwell, Mrs. Fon-trHansen, San Francisco, California', and MrsfrJelorls Garfield of Tremonton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Samuel Clark of Logan. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Bear River City Ward by Bishop Vernon Johnson. The boys were on a (our day camping trip at Tony's Lake in Logan Canyon, and were taking a hike to White Pine Lake, when they noticed smoke among the trees. Upon Investigation, they found the lightening had struck and started a fire. It was considerable work for the group, but they succeeded In putlng out the blaze.
