Show Parade Committee Makes Plans; Asks Cooperation plans for the judging of entries in the Box Elder County Fair parade are fast finding Ik New favor among local merchants and organizations and others throughout the entire county. J. Mohr, parade chairman announces that this year, Mrs. A. prizes will be given in three categories: one prize for the large professionally made floats, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in the miniature float group. A prize will also be given for the most float entered, and original prizes will be awarded in the children's section. It is expected that each organization and business that is proud of it's stand and service in Box Elder County will enter a float, and help to make the 1951 Fair parade the best ever presented. The parade will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, at 4 p.m. Entries may be submitted to Mrs. A. J. Mohr, Tremonton. Getz Dies of Polio Local people will remember Mr. and Mrs. Dan A. Getz, parents of Robert A. Getz, who died Sunday in Memphis Tennessee of polio. The Getz family lived In Tremonton some years ago, where Mr. Getz was a mechanic. The son 21 years of age, was stationed at the VS. Naval Air Station at Memphis when he was stricken Aug 8. The family now live at Elko, Nevada. Surviving are his widow, one parents, two daughter, his brothers, Howard Getz of Elko, and Donald Getz of Salt Lake City, and a sister, Mrs. L. L. During the year the cost of foods increased ,10'.,) above the average cost of the year previous. Utah Poultry Sending Out Patronage Checks Many farmers and poultry-me- n of this area are receiving patronage payment checks this week from the Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative' Ithrough the local branch. Directors ofthe Utah Poultry recently declared a $30,000 pat ronage payment on supplies purchased through the cooperative in 1947.
