Train At Tremonton, Tuesday The Fourth annual Union Pa cific Railroad Train, in with the Utah State Agricultural Extension Service, will be in Tremonton next Tues day, February 6, at 11 a. m. Following is the itinerary for the train while in Tremonton: 11 a. m. - 12:30 p. m. Adults. Livestock, crop insects, ro dents and earwigs. 12:30 - 2:30 p. m. Ag students, (2 groups) Livestock, crop insects, rodents and earwigs. 2:30 - 3:30 p. m. Home Ec. Students. Household insects. 3:30 - 4:30 p. m. Young Farmers, Veterans and wives. VALLEY RIVER Thursday, February Young Farmers Win District Honors Former County Jurist Dies of Heart Attack Marriner Merrill Morrison, 40, former resident of Tremonton and former judge of the First District Court in Box Elder county, died at a Logan hospital Monday afternoon, after a heart attack which he suffered that morning. Mr. Morrison, who was recog nized in the last edition of Who's Who, was a graduate of George Washington University with a Juris Doctor Degree. He practiced law in this county and at Richmond. He had received the outstanding citizen award given by the Junior Chamber of Commerce and had served as vice president of the state Jaycees. Mr. Morrison was also active in Boy Scout work, being a member of the Executive Council in Cache Valley. He married Minnie Knowles and they had one son and two daughters. Surviving are his widow, the-former Lois Allred, whom he married in 1946, his mother, Mrs. Hattie Morrison Funk, Logan and the following sons and, daughters Marriner N., Loenza and Linda Rae Morrison, Pres ton, Idaho; H. Earl. Jerry L. and iea Aurea Morrison, Richmond; and the following brothers and sisters; .Ernest M. Morrison, Eyde Park; Mrs. Lillian Christ-ense- n, Payson; Mrs. Hattie Nussbaum, Ogden; Mrs. Loenza Wassam, Garland; Mrs. Ethel Stanworth, Delta; Guy A. Nelson, Salt Lake , The Bear River Young Farmers Chapter were named winners of the Northern Utah division in achievements, at the leadership meeting held at the USAC last week. The district comprises Weber, Cache and Box Elder counties. They will be in Salt Lake City, February 9 and 10 to compete for state honors with other division winners from the various sections of the state. Among the achievements of the Young Farmers for the past year, which won them the distinction, the list the following A complete course in farm machinery repair to 23 young farmers, a course in turkey production, and special classes with trained authorities at six of the monthly meetings. Community services listed by the chapter included participation in work at the county fair grounds, assisting with fire; fighting on west hills, sponsoring three rabbit drives, growing cpecial barley for seed for young farmers, and the sponsoring of a benefit dance for a member.
