In presinct No. 1 of Tremonton, about 424 were registered, as qualified voters previous tq last Tuesday, T.iien'12-- t more registered. It is estimated there are still 180 cr more in this precinct who should register. In precinct two, an estimated 100 citizens are not registered. That precinct shows a registration list of 431, with 14 registering Tuesday bringing the total to 445. Tuesday, October 17, and 31 are the last days in which to register for the November election. If a person has been register- ed and missed voting two consecutive general elections, his name is dropped from the voting register. If living in a corporate city, one misses voting a municipal and a general election, that also disqualifies a voter. If uncertain in the least de- gree, be sure to check with your registrar, and if your name is not listed, register on one of the-twremaining days, October 17 or 31, AND THEN VOTE, for whom you please, BUT VOTE. What do you think the boys are fighting and dying for? So we can still have the privilege of going to the polls and voting for whom and what we please. Did you ever stop to think of the hours put in by public minded citizens in promoting civic projects and other events for the good of the people? During the past two weeks several very worth while projects have been promoted locally by groups of energetic people in an effort to better the education, health or general welfare of the folks they know. Briging the University of Utah children's theatre within the reach of the children and adults of this valley is one of these worthy moves. These performances are tops In entertainment and uplifting to the finest adult mind as well as Inspiring to children. The opportunity to see some of the best of the world's classics performed by such a cast as the University of Utah players. Is a cultural experience to be desired by everyone. Every community in Bear River valley was represented at a meeting last week to arrange for the use of the mobile unit which takes chest of people free of charge. By invitation, people from Park Valley and Snowville on the wesS, to Portage on the north, and including all communities of the area accepted assignments and have worked energetically since then to help the people of this valley to better health. This opportunity is still available as Friday is the last day for the unit in Tremonton. It will then be at Garland Monday and Tuesday; at Park Valley, Wednesday; Thatcher. Thursday; and Bear River City, Friday next week. It's such a simple thing to do to put your mind at complete rest regarding the condition of your lungs. x-r- ay ys The annual carnival at McKinley school which requires the concerted effort of large groups of room mothers and officers of the Parent Teacher Association to arrange, is set for the first week of November. The library at the school has been increased by thousands of volumes and the educational facilities of the school greatly increased. The efforts of the sponsors of these various events are lost unless John Q. Public and his family respond and do their part in supporting them. In most cases It Is only those who support these projects who profit. GRANDDAUGHTER FOR THE RUDY MILLERS Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Miller were happy to receive word that they are the grandparents of a V i girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Wise of Logan on October 9th at a Logan hospital. lb-bab- y ' |
