Show THE LEADER, Tremonton, Utah Tre-mont- continued from page To Grantsville, Meets Some of the finest livestock in the west were on held in display at the Box Elder County Fair last week end. Here are just a few that were snapped by the Leader's camera: South High Friday by JACK JOHNSON The Bear River high football squad ushered in their 1950 season with a 6 setback at the hands of a larger, more rugged Grantsville eleven. Grantsville, running out of a T, got off to a fast start as they blocked a Bear River punt which set up their first touchdown. The second quarter was scoreless and the halftime score .7-- . I:: read In the second half the game tightened up, with both teams showing a bit of "first game experience," but in the fourth quarter the Bears gave the local fans something to talk about as they made several nice down-fiel- d 7-- 1 J The Senior and Grand Champion Jersey bull, owned by Sorenson Brothers of East Garland. 0. drives, one of which saw Jimmy Ishii slip through to pay dirt. The conversion was wide and Grantsville still led 6 with 7-- about minutes remaining. The Bears made one more short, fast drive, but were unable to get the pass attack clicking, handing the ball back to Grantsville who ran out the remainder of the time. For Bear River, Jimmy Ishii showed plenty of fire in his running and Dee Weese laid into a number of fine punts. In the line Scott Hansen did a commendable job. Friday at 8 o'clock the Bears take on South high, a tough team with plenty of spirit. They have a number of lettermen returning and are undoubtedly already gunning for a state championship in order to make it a nearly clean sweep of all sports in 1950.
