Show Stays on Top 1st, 2nd Wards Battle Friday For Stake Softball Crown Tremonton First and Second Ward softball teams will battle Friday night for the South Bear River Stake championship, with game time scheduled for 8:30. The twa teams are tied one-ain their best of three championship playoff. In a preliminary game at the Honeyville 7:30 Friday, girls team will play the First Ward girls. Refreshments will be sold at the games with proceeds gooing to the park fund. Their playoff opened last Friday, with First Ward taking a 8 decision but, by agreement, the two teams canceled the game because of a question on a rule. In the game Saturday night. First Ward's power at the plate 4 melee paid off in a wild that went to nine innings, three over the scheduled amount. Monday night, the two teams locked up in a pitching duel between First Ward's Dewayne Falk and Eldon Anderson of the Second Ward, with the Second Ward coming out in front, Falk did workhorse duty on Tre-monto- 9-- 15-1- 4-- 2. In Little League Lumberjacks Tri-State- 's "threw a scare into'em" Friday the mound, hurling all three games for the First Ward. Man ager Zeb White can call on Falk or Sid Cutler for Friday night's battle. Anderson and Deverl Payne handled pitching duties for Second Ward and either should be ready to go Friday night. ll Rites Held For Mrs. Angeline D. The new champs were crowned after topping Elwood in a playoff game Friday night. Elwood had beaten Third Ward Wednesday night to advance to the finals. Elwood's nine was given the sportsmanship trophy after the playoff was completed. e. She was born Aug. 26, 1863 in Bornholm, a Denmark, daughter of Jorgen and Margaret Elizabeth Marker Deem. She married Hans Peter Han sen Oct. 12, 1878. in the Salt Lake Endowment House. They uvea in Bear River City then m Honeyville, where Mr. Han sen died June 28, 1915.
