Show GET YOUR HAIL AND FIRE INSURANCE NOW Emil Eggli Improving From Polio Attack A former Bothwell resident, Emil Eggli, who attended Bear River high school, and who hs many friends in the valley, is reported to be slowly improving from the effects of polio, which he suffered Feb. 21. He was hospitalized with partial paralysis in the right leg, left arm and the lungs. He is now able to walk a little and the' left arm i3 gradually im proving. Some concern is felt for the shoulder,' with the possibility of an operation to strengthen it being considered. His lungs have recovered to two thirds of normal. He was discharged from the Rancho Los Amigoa hospital in California, but returns to the hospital two days a week for treatment. wm jp"j .; OREGON FRIENDS VISIT Leave for Eight Week's Cruise Spanish Reviera. The boys expect to be back home the last week of August. David Calderwood and Bob Puzey, .members of the Navy ROTC at the University of Utah will sail from Norfolk, Va., July 8 for eight weeks navy duty. David left last week to allow for a visit with Jack Burt at Bethesda, Md... before he boards the Vogelgasang, a destroyer for the cruise. During his cruise the ship will dock at Valencia, Spain for a week and at Belfast, Ireland for a week. David expects to visit with President Clifton Kerr and family while in Ireland, as they expect to be there at the same time. Bob will leave Thursday for Virginia. He has been assigned to the destroyer, Thomas. His crew will dock at Barcelona, Spain, and at Glascow, Scotland for a week at each port. Bob has decided to take a tour from the Spanish port which will take him to France, Monaco, and Bruce Archibald Has Operation sen and family of Salem, Ore., are spending their vacation in Tremonton with the Guy Johnsons. Several family parties and dinners have been given since the Nielsens arrived. Ron Dell Robbing Joins Air Force Ron Dell Robbins is beginning his four years of military service in the Air Force." He enlisted at Ft. VISITOR AT GEPHAiRT HOME Mrs. Clyde Gephart of Sacra- mento, Calif., has been visiting in Tremonton during the past two weeks. She was a guest at the home of her brother-in-laFred Gephart. During her stay in Tremonton, several nice parties and social afternoons were enjoyed by the visitor and her former friends and associates. Mrs. E. H. White of Salt Lake City was in Tremonton during her visit to associate with her old friends. r' Mrs. Williard Wyatt and dau- ghter Bille of Logan visited Thursday with Ethel Mortensen. Dee Leak Enjoys Work in East Dee O. Leak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leak is nw located at Philadelphia, Pa., where he is working as a special service clerk. He was formerly with Personel on Morning Reports. Dee's wife, the former Glenna Richardson of Garland is with him in the east. They have had the opportunity to see a few major league baseball games, and recently enjoyed very much a game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals. BEAR RIVER CITY By Andrea Huggins Leon Strong in Provo Hospital The entire community extends best wishes to Leon Strong who is confined at the Utah Valley hospital in Provo, suffering from a heart condition. We hope for his speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Claire Anderson had their fifth daughter named Sunday and they will call her Trudy Anderson. The Ander son s are mighty lucky to have five lovely daughters, not many couples are blessed that much. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Hansen had their first daughter named and she will be called Heidi Ann Hansen. The many friends of Mrs. Mary Holman will be glad to learn that she is feeling some better after her severe bout with the flu. Her son Courtley and wife Helen of Burbank, Calif., visited her last week. Mrs. Wanda H. Simmons of Ogden has spent some time with her mother, too. Jeanine, Kim and Naomi Lynne Anderson of Centerville spent last week with their grandmother, Mrs. Ivy Anderson, while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ardell Anderson were in Kansas City attending a Jaycee convention. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Kilpack and daughter Cheryl of North Hollywood, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Jethro Kilpack and Joan of Huntington, Utah, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Leonard and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Anderson. The men are brothers of Mrs. Leonard and Mrs. Anderson. Other visitors at the Leonard home were Mrs. Addie Young and daughter Nelda of Salt Lake City. Glen Iverson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Holman and small son were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Hansen, Sunday. Family Reunion The Nels P. Nelson family met in a family reunion at the Lorin Farr Park, Sunday. Those attending from here were Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Nelson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson and children, and Mr. and sMrs. Ere Whitaker and Kathryn Whitaker. There were 230 members in attendance. Mrs. Cleopha Whitaker is president of the group. Mrs. Violet Jensen of Brigham City visited her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Breag-ger- , Sunday. She also attended Sacrament services where her newest grand daughter received the name of Sheryl Ann Breag-ge- r. Roy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Breagger of Willard, also attended the services. Lyle Nelson of Los Angeles was an over night visitor of his sister and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ere Whitaker, Sunday. Mrs. Viola Hastings, mother of Mrs. Lorena Waddoups. visited several days at the Thomas Waddoups home. home is in Salt Lake City. Club Birthday Celebrated The pinocle club celebrated their 21st annniversary by having dinner at the Idle Isle in Brigham City and taking a ride through beautiful Logan Canyon.
