Show THE LEADER. Tremonioa, Utah Thursday. January 5. 1956 BEAR RIVER CITY By Andrea Huggins Completes Indian Mission Elder Varge A. Christensen returned recently from a two year mission in the South West Indian Mission. At the time of his release Elder Christensen was District President. For the past e year he labored in the mission, his main work was with the Indian youth, especially with the Boy Scouts. Mr. and Mrs. Irving Christensen and Elmo motored to Albuquerque to bring Varge home. On their way home they came by way of San Fernando,' Calif., where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Thirl Christensen and sons Gene and Ryan and with Mr. and Mrs. Dee Christensen and daughter Becky. They also visited the Los Angeles Temple. Visiting for the holiday season at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Johnsen has been Miss Gaynell Johnsen from Missoula, Montana, where she is currently employed as a dietitian at the Montana State University. As her guest she entertained Mr. Louis Jeffery for a few days, after he had spent Christmas with his parents in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Austin John-se- n drove them to Missoula Saturday morning where they will resume work and school beginning the winter quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Huggins entertained at a family dinner at their home honoring especially their daughter and Captain and Mrs. James E. Karo recently of Fort Knox, Kentucky, The Karos are planning on making their home in Ogden after ten weeks schooling in Officers Quarter Master Commodity in Fort Lee, Virginia. The Captain will be stationed at the Ogden Quarter Master Depot. Mrs. Karo is with the Ogden City School system and will teach at the Polk School In Ogden. Johnsens Hold Open House Open House Dec. 27 was a feature of much pleasure by all who came to the Austin John-se- n home. Because of Gaynell's birthday and the fact she had not been home for but few family gatherings in the past few years, she had the opportunity to visit many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she hadn't seen for some time. Buffet luncheon was served to forty guests. A tape recording of the greetings and messages was taken and will be sent to Elder Leron Johnsen and relatives in Odence, Denmark. Farm Bureau Officers Elected The ladies Farm Bureau was recently reorganized and new officers elected. Mrs. Gladys Thorsen will act as President, Elrita Anderson, Myrtle Anderson and Damsel Nelson are the other new officers. Released with a vote of thanks were the Victoria Johnsen, following, President, Verlyn Jensen, Lela Anderson and Gertrude Iverson. A pot luch lunch and games were enjoyed at the home of Lela Anderson. Mr. end Mrs. Keith Johnsen and sons of Eden, Ida., , were guests of Keith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Johnsen during the holidays. Babies Named Two babies were given names in Sacrament meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Wilden Rasmussen named their daughter, Debra Ann and Mr. and Mrs. Lon Hansen named their son Lon. Lon and his wife have moved to Ogden to make their home. Mrs. (Glen Gertie) Iverson spent several days in the Cooley hospital. Roger Johnsen has been in the hospital for several days with an Injured leg he suffered while playing basketball. Mrs. Hansen returned to Salt Lake City after staying here a couple of days and Sandra remained for the rest of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Loveland and family visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ault, Monday. After dinner, the Lovelands drove on to their home in Buhl, Idaho. Welcome the New Year Zane and Fay Wheatly, Rita and Vernon Bunderson, Margaret and Myrl Perry and Doug and Marge Burbank welcomed the New Year in by attending the dance at the High School.
