Also honored was Steryl Miller who leaves for the service Tuesday. The guests of honor received gifts. Refreshments were served to a large number of young people. Mondell will report at an air base in Illinois Jan. 25 for further instruction after a furlough at home. Mondell has been , ill since arriving home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hansen spent Monday afternoon in Brig-haCity visiting Harolds' father, R. P. Hansen and Mrs. Hansen. Mr. Hansen clebrated his 88th birthday Thursday, Jan. 6. Mrs. Ada Fridal and? Mrs. Wilma Fridal spent Wednesday in Ogden. The El wood girls were in a basketball game played Monday evening with the Second ward girls. Employers who hire these men will have to deduct 2 percent from the worker's salary, match that amount and pay all the money (4 percent of the salary) into the social security system each calendar quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bourne of Layton spent the weekend here with their family at the Delos Adams home. Mrs. Bourne will spend another week with her sister, Mrs. Leila Boothe. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Adams and Erma of Logan visited at the Adams home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Shaffer had as Sunday afternoon guests, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Godfrey and family of Clarkston, Mrs. Dora Shaffer and JoAnne, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Oyler Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Anderson. Yetta Karen Peterson played a piano selection and Warren Hansen told some of the experiences of their recent trip across the country.
