Show aw 10 4 tf 1 T ir A VOL NO 13 rouble rOO ELJE genealogical SUNDAY last sunday was vas a day long to be remembered by the Latt erday saints in this city c it was genealogical sunday a day set apart for the saints to remember their ancestors and to hunt up more diligently the genealogical records ids of their fore parents arrangements had been made for both tooele thoele wards to mett meet at the north wards ward meeting house at 2 p m and then for both wards to meet in the south ward rard meeting house in the evening I 1 at auhl the meeting at 2 p ro the combined choirs of both wards composed of about 70 voices sang some beautiful anthems the choirs being conducted alternately by allred alfred M nelson leader of the north ward choir and miss rebecca athina athin leader of the southward south ward choir prayer was offered by bishop edward M atkin alkin the sacrament Sacr ameni was administered apostle george F richards then spoke upon some subjects leading to the salvation of the dead and quoted from fro many any passages of the scriptures showing the necessity of the work now being done in the temples for the salvation of the dead as well as for the living and uri urged ed upon the Latt erday saints in devoting more time to hunting up the genealogies of their ancestors and performing the afie work that our departed relatives and friends could not do for themselves after singing by the choir the meeting was dismissed by stake councilor C R mcbride the evening meeting in the south ward meeting house was a continuation of the afternoon meeting the combined choirs were present and sang some beautiful anthems prayer was off offered e red by stake president C A orme the sacrament was administered elder y 4 cassity t president of the he t stake genealogical Genealogic il society was wa t s the 1 first ppe speaker and urged upon the young saint particulars the duty of remembering their ancestors and fitting themselves for going into the temples and working there for the salvation of their relatives who haye have passed affat before hearing of the gospel of christ as re veiled through the prophet joseph smith apostle george F richards then spoke for a short time giving some general and fatherly advice and instructions to those present after the cho choir ir singing in an anthem the meeting was closed with prayer by bishop councillor john J gillett TK W A NS FRID FRIDAY AY SEPTEMBER 25 1914 price five cents a copy t |
