Show VELMA BARBER ANSWERS DEATH CALL PASSES AWAY AT HOME OF HER HEB PARENTS AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS CAUSED AN AM OF INFLUENZA velma barber t the he 19 year old daughter of mr and mrs frank barber of this city died of tuberculosis bercu losis at the family residence in this city last friday december ath this fatal disease had been contracted during an attack of the influenza some eight months ago the report of this popular young ladys death cast a sad gloom over this city she was one of the highly respected young women of our community and leaves many friends to mourn her departure velma was born in this city october 17 1900 and has been a resident here with her parents practically all of her life she is survived by her parents four sisters and three brothers namely mrs erb M johnson lottie ruth and romona barber reed marvin and lynn barber funeral services were held in the south ward meeting house sunday afternoon at elder matthew conducted the services the south ward choir rendered the opening selection elder W frank atkin offered the opening prayer A quartet consisting of mr and mrs leo isgreen M 11 II and rebecca atkin rendered a selection president C alvin orme and A J were the speak speakers rs both eulogized the life of the deceased and spoke of words comfort and consolation to the bereaved mrs H H H johnston rendered a solo between the addresses of the two speakers the choir rendered a selection and the benediction was offered by pros pres C R me bride the int interment ermint was in ili the too tco ele city cemetery bishop E M atkin dedicating the grave |
