To make the stocks available the businessman must make the most advantageous use of financing. Three different types of financing were discussed: Small Rusiness Administration Loans, Factoring and what he called Borrowing on Payables. Small business loans, he continued, are available and carry the advantage of a lower interest rate. The disadvantage lies in the fact that it fixes a persons Ixinrowing power. That is, once a loan has lieen made no further iKirrowing can lie done until it has lieen paid off. ON THE other hand factoring offers an open end to borrowing. Businesses using this method contact with financial institutions to supply credit on the basis of accounts receivable. When using payables as a loan basis money is advanced (up to 50 per cent) in relation to the amount invested in merchandise. Financing is available Mr. Curtis said, challenging the businessmen to increase your merchandise and you will increase your sales. rHir THS Band 76-7- h. He predicted that a one half cent increase in sales taxes for cities will have a tough time being enacted into law this session. Senator Ernest G. Mantes, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee says that appropriation measures should have been out on the Senate floor for consideration before now and this means overtime and Saturday sessions when they do come out of committee. Both Senate and House members expect overtime sessions when they do come out of committee. Both Senate and House members expect overtime sessions to be the ride as legislators eye the March 13th end of the current sessions. WHAT OBSERVERS describe as a very tough narcotics control bill and a controversial liquor bill have both passed the senate this week. One representative brands the quality of legislation passed by the house so far this session as low but the calilier of legislators as high. He expects that in addition to important bills some bad legislation will lie passed in tile hist minute rush to adjourn. |
