In its first match of the year Tooele came up with a win. So, apparently, are the young basketball players because they keep returning for clinic after clinic and some of the youngsters were selected through a random draw to take part in a Jazz halftime to demonstrate the skills theyve acquired. This summers camps will be an extension of the clinics with Jazz players and coaches on hand for in- struction from the basic to ad- vanced skills, lectures on a variety of topics, films and tournaments And it will all from to be to insure that a youngster receives his or her moneys worth and experiences total development of the person, fast-pace- d re- turning lettermen, Zentner and Dalton and states that the league, with the exception of Judge Memorial appears to be the class of the league. Starr teaches reaction and reflex skills and works to develop confidence in the young player while nurturing love for the game. Hes worked with players now playing professionally in the NBA or in Europe and they served as his test models to develop his own coaching technique. Hes also worked his magic at the Utah State Prison, a unique place to become a "Pied Piper of Basket- but a place where Starr ball, succeeded. Now, hes succeeding with Utah youth in the developing Jazz Properties, Inc., area. Its an area thats for development, but Starr and a clinic staff are putting in the hours necessary to expose area youngsters to the sport and a wide-ope- n way of life. Practices will be held weekday afternoons from 5:00 to 6:00 until school is out for the summer, then practice will be from 8:00 to 9:00 in the morning. There will be one meet a month, starting in April and concluding Provo meet in with the two-day mid July.
