A MINIATURE parade. Friday evening and full acale parade Saturday morning wQI highlight the celebration which wtT conclude Saturday night with a rodeo. Tooele has grown' to rank among the larger cities of Uuh from the humble beginning of three families who settled on Settlement Canyon Creek in the south part of Tooele IIS year ago. Tooele took ha name from the valley, the origin of the name of which la clouded by the passing of the years. NORTH TOOELE Stake is sponsoring this years two day celebration. Racing Delayed On Salt Flats Water on the Bonneville Salt ' Ju'y 34 Parade will begin at 9 p.m. Entries must be at assembly areas at 5:30 p.m. July 35 - The parade will be- he gin at 9:30 a.m. Entries must be at the assembly area at 8:30. ENTRIES. Any individual or group may enter the parade providing the entry to of a wholesome and uplifting nature. Miniature f oats and Junior en tries will participate in the July 34 parade while the larger floats will participate on July 35. However, if the entries in the miniature parade wish they may participate on July 35 also. The following Competition. prizes will be given on July 24: (a) Miniature floats. (Less than 10 feet long) 315. 310, 35; (b) individual. (BiJunior entries cycles. wagons, doll buggies, etc.) Maximum age - 10. Children under six must be accompanied by an adult. 35, 33, 31. Eveiy Junior entry will receive a small award. The following prizes will be given on July 35: (a) Regular floats (Business, churches, civic clubs, etc.) 350. 335, 325. (b) Unclassified. 315 to outstanding miscellaneous or novelty entry. JUDGING. Three judges will pick the winning entries. The reviewing area will be in front of the city hall, (a) The theme to Pioneers Progress. The following will apply to all floats. (1) Originality, 25 points; (2) and directness of Suitability theme, 30 points; (3) Crafts- manship (including durability), 20 points; (4) Artistry (includ- ing beauty), 25 points; Total: 100 points, (b) Only floats will be judged and not the vehicles them.
