Rationing of water for a period was averted Tuesday by a change in the weather, Tooele City Manager Sidney Noble reported to the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce, Wednesday. LIGHTNING LAST Thursday had put out of operation the small well at the south end of the Tooele City Airport resulting in a decreased flow of water into Tooele City reservoirs. Increased demands because of warm weather had caused the reservoirs to drawn down to the point where parks, schools, and the nursing home and the hospital were asked to discontinue for awhile the watering of lawns and shrubs. Cloudy weather caused the demand for water to decrease sufficiently to build up water reserves in the reservoirs to the point where rationing was not necessary. Mr. Noble reported. THE PROPOSED new well will serve in a reserve capacity so that Tooele City will have a reserve pumping capacity in contrast to the present situation where capaciy is required In the summer from all the wells.. Provision was made for the. new well when the mains were laid at the airport to the, two city wells and the new well' will be drilled at a point half' way between as soon as permission can be obtained from the state and bids obtained, and will well that was put out of action by lightning and it is expected to be in operation by the end of the week, Mr. Noble said. He reported that the new two million gallon reservoir no long- er leaks and that the city has accepted it after the contractor made the required repairs. It is now in use.
