Show 7 THE TOOELE 5IMES JUST A LITTLE NONSENSE. LINCOLN little nonsense, now and then, Is relished by the wisest men. Under this heading we shall print which are pithy little paragraphs meant to amuse aud while the hits may strike home to dozens of people, they are not meant for any particular A person. o That we know there are fifty-seve- n families in Stockton, forty-seveof whom are subscribers to The Times, the other ten we hope to make members of the Times Booster Club. That the postoffice inspector is looking up the Stockton Sentinel and Mercur Miner and orders have been issued that those papers must pay one cent postage on each and every copy mailed at the respective offices. That the Gaily David has been send Ing a dozen papers to the Stockton Bostoffice unaddressed, expecting the postmaster to circulate them, but the people would not take them. That the postmaster simply consigns them to the waste box where they belong. That the Stockton Sentinel has NO SUBSCRIBERS in Stockton. That we are investigating these fake papers and will have them all excluded from the mails. That Dave Felt is toadying to the Western Newspaper Union and perhaps (?) he will get a remission of his long overdue accounts with them. That dont owe the Western Newspaper union one penny, hut made them DISGORGE two dollars and thirty cents that they had overcharged us and collected by a draft that we had to pay or our paper would have been held up that week. That we were compelled to submit to the extortion. That we said things over the phone to the manager and quit the neady-prin- t pirates right then. That their subservient, long, lanky kid bookkeeper tried to induce us to oontijiue using their dope, hut we steadfastly refused to have any more dealings with people who would resort to dishonest methods. That' other newspapers using their soon have their eyes openJo; ed and will come over to the ALLHOME PRINT PLAN. That we are rejoicing that our eyes have been opened to the gigantic extortion and the uselessness of the ready-prin- t scheme. That all of the country papers would break away from the ready-prin- t house, but many are so deeply in debt to them that they are worse than peons and cannot break loose. That we sympa'hize with them and will show them the way to be their pwn master sand take them out of the house of bondage. Yea, we will be their Moses and show them how to throw off the yoke of the ready-prin- t house. That Peter Anderson says he wants the town to go dry. That tie- has .been peddling wet goods so long that he Is getting dry n w-- e lilmselt Tlriti Peter is a dry joker, but in his youth has often given tlfis toasts .'Din skoll, min skoll, ait ata vackra flickors skoll. Tliat; the Plat1 C hoodlfim has subsided and will be made to be decent or tlie liw will he enforced against Mi nr? That th'e rough house has quieted down and the giddy women no longer think it is a joke. That Miv Buttinski of Plat C has not sense enough to take a hint and come off the perch. That his boss may get a hunch and fire the fool even if he is such a faithful subservient Man Friday. That we may be compelled to paint the picture of Mr. Buttinski in The Times. That a petition to revoke the license of Sam Alwortli's saloon- was denied. That it would have been far better tb have gone a little farther north and close up the resort conducted by hoodlums. That they the strong arm of the law if they dont cater to will-fee- Lindberg and J. Alex. Bevan, board members. Blanche Bates, librarian.
