Show Sept. Visits at Dead Horse Point Up Over Last Y ear Visitation at Dead Horse Point State Park totaled 7,773 for the month of September, as compared to 6.eS7 for the same month in 1970, it was announced this week by Max A. Jensen, ranger at the park. Of last month's visitors, 9S2 camped overnight and 75 per cent were from out of state. September figures bring the total visitation for the year of 1971 to 50.768, as compared com-pared to 33,496 for the same months in 1970. This is a 51 per cent increase over '70 for the year to date. The hours now in effect at the visitor center are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days each week. This schedule will be used until the center closes in December. The ?1.00 per vehicle fee will be charged during this period. The water system in the camp area will be drained Oct. 7th for the winter. Camping Cam-ping will still be permitted and water will be available at the visitor center. |
