Show Services Slated Thursday For James S. Westwood Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. ;n Moab LDS Chapel for longtime long-time resident and well known rancher, James S. Westwood, 86. Mr. Westwood, who lived the past fourteen years in Bountiful after retiring, passed pass-ed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Roland Foy, on October 13, of causes incident in-cident to age. Mr. Westwood, along with his family, operated a large farming and dairy operation K- - 1 ' t ., "1 I ' 'j J. S. Westwood on acreage which now contains con-tains Palisades Subdivision for many years. The pioneer livestock operator also ranged rang-ed cattle in the lands north of Moab, much of which is now within the confines of Arches National Mnument. James Samuel Westwood was born March 29, 1882 $t Huntington, Emery County, a son of George and Ellen Rowberry Westwood. He was married to Susan Lydia Harris Har-ris on April 20, 1911 at Pro-vo, Pro-vo, Utah. Mrs. Westwood passed away in 1962, after the couple had moved to Bountiful. Mr. Westwood was a frequent fre-quent visitor to Moab during the past several years, where: he enjoyed visiting with his acquaintances of a lifetime. He is survived by six daughters dau-ghters and three sons. Mrs. Roland (Dee) Foy, Moab; Mrs. Jess (Nellie) Walker, (Clara) Murray, San Diego, California; Mrs. Floyd (Wil-ma (Wil-ma Vay) Fulkerson, Sacramento, Sacra-mento, California; Mrs. Jack (Clara Lee) Beaver, Mountain Moun-tain Home Idaho; Mrs. Gerald Ger-ald (lone) Calahan, Bountiful, Bounti-ful, Utah; James Valjean Westwood, Moab; John H. Westwood, Mapleton, Utah; . and Vernon H. Westwood, Wells, Nevada. Also surviving is one brother, bro-ther, Ephraim Westwood. Vernal, Utah; two sisters, Eunice, California; and Gertrude, Ger-trude, Florida; thirty-three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Bountiful Cemetery under direction di-rection of the Grand Valley Mortuary of Moab. |
