Show Funeral Held In Blending Blanding For Pioneer Funeral services were held at 2 pm p.m. Wednesday afternoon afternoon afternoon after after- noon at the Blanding I Chapel for Lillian LUlian Hatch Helquist Helquist Hel Hel- quist 90 of Blanding well well- known pioneer woman who passed away August 30 in the San Juan Hospital at Monti- Monti cello Born September 25 1873 at Payson to John and Maria Marb Hatch the deceased was married married mar mar- ried to Charles Helquist in 1891 at the Temple In Salt Lake City They moved I I to Old Mexico Mexico- In 1899 where they resided until the Villa VUla Revolution In 1912 escaping with only two trunks and a bedroll with their eight children children children child child- ren and other refugees of the area They spent the following two years in Service Valley where twin daughters were born to them In December 1914 they began a week three trip by team and wagon to Blanding where Mrs Helquist Hel quist has since resided Her husband proceeded her in death in 1931 The deceased was active in Relief Society and a former Primary teacher She was an active member of the DUP She served as chairman of 01 the Red Cross during World War I. I She was well known for her beautiful quilts and hand handwork handwork work and interested in gen cology work Survivors include ten child ren Four sons Kenneth John and E. E A A. Helquist of ot Blanding and Lynn of v i Mesa Arizona six daughters Mrs rs Thomas Thpmas F Faye e I Jones ones Mrs Paul Paull l Mae lae Black and Mrs Ken Marva Palmer of Blanding Bland ing Mrs Eugene Ada Stole RIgby Idaho Mrs M. M H.
