Show ba BOARD the proposed prop osLA budget for the grand county school district for the fiscal year commencing july 1 1925 as discussed by the board of education at its may alay meeting was wag adopted with minor change at a meeting held thesda the aum sum of was aa taken from the buildings and sites integ 8 fund and added to the repairs and replacements fund the aggregate amount of the budget for the year 1 14 the levy required to raise this amount will be somewhere be teen tm pen 7 75 and 82 8 2 mills depending on the final action of the boards of equalization the board of education mot met tuesday morning pursuant the notice of f budget to hear any corn com plaines ints regarding the proposed budget but no taxpayer appeared to protest the budget was adopted at the afternoon present at the meetings tuesday were acre trustees C A robertson J P miller william cooley 11 W balsley and S IV dufford clerk W R mccankie and superintendent D S L mccorkle Corkle Nc the plans plang and specifications for the repair of the high school building as prepared by architect W E ware were nere adopted and the president and clerk mere ere authorized to advertise for bids for the letting of contracts the bids will be opened on the evening of june 19 there was some discussion at the meeting of repairs to the star hall re centia purchased by the district and it is probable that these will mill be authorized at the next meeting the repairs con contemplated tem plated will all tend to make the hall more during cold weather according to architect ware this result can be obtained by ceiling the stage replacing window glass and repairing poors and windows I 1 j superintendent D S L me tie corkle was employed re for the ensuing beart at his present salary the rem remaining aaning positions I 1 in the schools of the county were filled by the election of three new teachers they are miss leia lela sturges of green river for the first grade of the cen aral school moab miss pauline bruener of salt lake city teacher of english and oral ex cressio n in the high school and miss norma noma peterson of salt lake city teacher of business a and nd junior high subjects miss alias sturges comes to moab very highly recommended recommend ed as a primary teacher she taught at ogden the past term and was offered employment reemployment re there but prefers to teach nearer her home she has had three years teaching experience and is a graduate of the kansas teachers college misses bruener and peterson wired their accept ance of the positions them are both college graduates and have each had three years teaching experience every teacher in high school for next year had previous teaching experience and has a college degree superintendent mccorkle authorized by board lend typewriters to students during the summer upon their de positing 50 the value of the machine as a guarantee that the typewriter will be returned in as good condition as it was vas when hen loaned out less ordin ordinary arri w ear upon the return of the machine the 50 will be returned to the student less 6 th the e cost of putting the machine back in repair miss maxine taylor daughter of mr and mrs A T taylor te returned turned sunday from mccracke cn on kansas where she attended high school during the past term she made her home there with aith an aunt mrs hattie nash |
