Show I1 SUN CHRONICLE, Feb. 17, 1979, Page 1 1 Roy News Ruth Lobel has been in the hospital for treatment but is home now and feeling better. John J. Kirkland, father of John E. Kirkland and Dennis Kirkland of Roy, died Saturday in St. Benedicts Hospital of heart failure. He was a lifelong resident of Ogden, and had worked at Hill Air Force Base, and the Ogden Union Railway. He was an elder in the Ogden 12th LDS ward and was past president of Lodge 1592 of the American Federation of Government Employees. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in Ogden. A baby boy was born at McKay Dee Hospital on Feb. to Russell and Judith King, who live at 3720 W. 6000 S., Roy. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Tucker and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dodson returned recently from a later winter trip to Mexico. They spent most of their time in Mazatland and 11 a especially enjoyed Mexican Fiesta during their stay. Myron and Maralyn Stratton of 2614 W. 6050 S., are parents of a baby girl born Feb. 11 at McKay Dee Hospital. Brent Racker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Racker, who was seriously injured in a skiing accident, has been released from the hospital and is feeling much better. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Welch and daughter Holly were in St. George recently where they attended the Utah Dairymens Association con- vention. Holly competed in the Dairy Princess pageant and was chosen as a runner to the Dairy Prinup cess. Shauna and Rocky Olson are the proud parents of a baby boy, born Feb. 4 at McKay Dee Hospital. They now have two girls and a boy in their family. Their home is at 2193 W. 4250 S. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Egginton, all of Roy. Steen and Nora Donaldson are home again after spending about two months in Hawaii with their son and his family,' who live just out of Honolulu. They were there for the holidays and had a delightful time in the beautiful weather. Richard and Jean Blankenship are parents of a baby -- girl, born Feb. 12 at McKay-De- e Hospital. They live at Temple vows traded 2180 W. 6050 S. Stanley and Ronda Kano also had a girl on Feb. 12 at JilcKay Dee Hospital. Their home is at 5776 S. 2000 W., No. D. Frederick A. Friedli, 77, of Logan died Feb. 8 in the Logan Hospital. He was the father of Mrs. Alden (LaRee) Olson of Roy. Funeral services were held on Monday in Logan. Greg and Kathryn Moore had a baby girl on Feb. 8 at St. Benedicts Hospital. They live at 6088 S. 2275 W. Keith and Pat Peterson have been in Reno, Nevada for a few days while Mr. Peterson attended a convention for his business. Bert Child is back in the hospital for observation. He recently had surgery. Dennis and Susan Green and family have returned to Roy to make their home. They have been living in Orem for the past eight months, where he was employed by the Eyring Research Center. Scott and Sharon Burbank, of 2127 W. 5750 S. are parents of a baby boy, born Feb. 5 at David North Medical Center. Dale Needham is home from the hospital where he had surgery. Gary and Marilyn Newman recently returned from a trip to Hawaii. They attended the National Homebuilders convention and did some sightseeing and enjoyed some of the shows and entertainment offered there. Stella Terry has been released from the hospital after another long stay. She will be confined to her home for a while. Polly Hammon Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Lynile Buhler on Wednesday evening for their February meeting. Dorothy Medell and the was lesson was given by May Ohlin. Errol and Joan Nelson have just returned from a trip to Hawaii, where Mr. Nelson attended some business meetings.
