Show f, SUN CHRONICLE, June 29, 1978, Page 12 mws hoy 3y Several Roy people have been globe trotting this summer. Cal and LaRue Odenwalder took a delightful trip to Europe. They flew to Frankfurt, Germany and spent a day or two in Heidelberg before going over to Denmark a tour of Copenhagen and then on to Sweden w here they met their son Duane, who has been serving there as an LDS missionary. They visited with friends of Duane in several of the towns and also saw Goteborg and Stockholm. They went back to Denmark for a few days and then back into Germany and in to Holland. Here they visited with friends of Mr. Odenwalder, whom he met while serving there as a missionary. They toured Amsterdam as well as other cities there. Crossing back through Germany they went to Berlin and then on to Austria where they found Salzburg and Innsbruck to be especially fascinating. In Switzerland they attended the LDS Temple near Bern before going back to Germany for a boat trip down the Rhine River. Back at Frankfurt, they took a plane back to Utah. Most of their travelling while in Europe was done by Eurail. The Odenwalders son David arid his wife and baby from Phoenix, Arizona are spending a" week here, with the family. Darrell and Marie Gamble Land of the joined the Scriptures Workshop tour for a y journey which took them to Italy, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Israel. In Israel they saw all the spots in Biblical history, including the Sea of Gallilee, Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives. It was an exciting time last week for the James Pingarees. They had all of their family together for the first time in two years. Guy and Sandra Cook and children were here from Bend, Oregon. Jeff and Marsha Brinkerhoff and their children came up from St. George and Lanny and Maureen Simmons and family came from Pocatello, Idaho for the reunion. Dee and Donna Manning have a baby boy, born June 19 at McKay Dee Hospital. They live at 5154 S. 2600 W. h Dee and Shelley and children are spending several weeks in Roy. They have been living in Denver, Colorado, where Dee has been stationed with the Air Force. After their visit here, they will go to South Carolina for a two year assignment. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Close are parents of a baby girl, born June 18 at St. Benedicts Hospital. Mrs. Close is the former Judy Dance and the young couple lives at 3950 S. 1915 W. Bam-broug- Allyson Whittemore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Whittemore, flew to Panama City, Florida for a visit with her grandparents, the John Espys. Joel and Latricia Cannon are visiting in Roy with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Cannon, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Eastman. They have been living in Florida where Joel was stationed in the Navy. They will be moving to Idaho Falls, where he will pursue his Naval training in Nuclear Physics. Mrs. Nila Child and Mrs. Norma Whittemore won Grade A Ribbons at the Leaders Craft Fair held in Hooper. recently in the Bicentennial Congratulations LaChaux-de-Fond- 4-- to these ladies for their fine work. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller and their family have been to Oregon, where they attended the wedding of a brother of Mrs. Mioller. A Roy man, Lawrence B. Anderson, has been elected vice president, Air Force, for the Reserve year of This year, the band played concerts in England, Balk, and in the Bolsward, Netherlands,. Luxemborg, 1976. Hod-deso- and Saarbrucken, Dmkelsbuhl, in Germany, and at Interlaken and in s Switzerland. Mrs. Laura W.F. Shaw, 88, of Ogden, died June 22, at e Hospital. She had lived in Weber County most of her life, and had been an active member of the LDS Church. She was the McKay-De- mother of Raymond, and Robert Frew, and Mrs. Ronald (Mabel) Green, all of Roy. Funeral services were held on Monday in Ogden. Richard and LaWanna Jensen, and two daughters, Laurie and Liesa, had an unforgettable trip this summer. They flew to Korea, where, they met their son, Kevin, who has just completed a mission for the LDS Church. The family then toured southern Korea for a week including the cities of Pusan and Seoul. From there, they flew to Hawaii, where they spent after spending several weeks Las Vegas. Mrs. Tomlinson attended the another week, touring several of the islands and enjoying the many attractions there. in National Convention of the B.P.O. Does, and they also visited with their two daughters and their families, who lives in that area. Beth Gibson of Roy has been installed as president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Utah Air Force Association. The installation dinner was held on Wednesday at the Hill Air Force Base Officers Club. Richard and Janice Tubbs spent a few days last week relaxing at Lake Mead in Nevada. Gary and Ann Cox and family have been away for about 2lz weeks. They drove up to Victoria, B.C. and down the coast of Washington and Oregon, and through the California Redwoods and down to San Francisco, coming home by way of Reno, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tomlinson are home again, Officers Association of Utah. The Utah group is made up of some 1,000 reserve officers from all branches of the armed forces. Dale and Joy Parkinson have a baby girl, born June 23. Mrs. Parkinson is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Denning. The young couples home is at 2285 W. 4350 S. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bridges, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Wagstaff, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pitchford and their families had a great time camping together for a week at Flaming Gorge. They enjoyed boating and fishing, and report that fishing was good at the Gorge right now. Jed and Ann Waddoups have been away for two weeks. Jed was on active duty with the Naval Reserve, and they spent a week in Norfolk, Virginia and a week at Annapolis, Maryland. Joining the Northern Utah Honor Band for a concert tour in Europe from June 8 through 29, were Sonnet Allen, Robert Griffey, Susan Hardy, Mike Nellestein, Sheri Nixon, Blate Jones and Adrianna Lutrell, all of Roy.
