Richard Kynaston, Henry Matis and Bill Keith were all presented with this award by the council for their many years of service working in the scouting program. W'oodbadge Training has been another facet to his service and has been an instructor for the Salt Lake Council Woodbadge Course and has helped the Lake Bonneville Council in this capacity. Keith has set up a unique Explorer Post for the Iuikeview LDS ward called a Mountain Man Explorer Post " which is a special interest group who have learned to build their own gear, from guns to moccasins. This is the only such post in the Western United States. He is the father of three daughters and one son, who is an Eagle Scout. Henry A. Matis, 5512 S. 2425 Roy, has given W., many years of service, which has included organizing a troop in Finland. For 17 years, he has served on the Executive board of the Lake Bonneville Council, and in the meantime, has been chairman of the Scout ORama for seven years. Currently he is the vice president of the Council, in charge of Relationships and Activities. Other activities for Matis have included serving as a member of the Summer Camp Inspection Team and on the Eagle Review Board. Also active in his community, he has been a member of the Weber County School board for 15 years. For his church, he has been a Stake President tw'ice and also a Regional Representative. He is the father of one daughter and four sons. Beginning in 1964, Richard Kynaston 4372 S. 2150 W, Roy, has been active in scouting, and one parent has commented that he has 99 per cent scouting and 1 per cent blood in his veins. Along with being assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster for several troops, he has also helped to organize an Explorer post and Cub Pack. Along with all his local duties, he has aided the council as an Area Commissioner and a Merit Badge Counselor. Just recently, he has been the Scout Committee Chairman and on the District Varsity Scout Committee His wife has said of her husband that while being in the hospital many times while acme in Scouting, "This has not stopped Dick from being with his Scouts and helping with scout ac- - tivity where he was needed.
