Show I - WEST POINT NEWS The Cooking Cookies, Club, under the able leadership of Mrs. Beth Porter. The girls have been quite successful making muffins etc. and are enjoying their first year in cooking. Jill Russell has been chosen president, Peggy . Millgate, vice president; Laurel Gardner is the treasurer, Debby Youngfield serves as reporter. Gene Porter is song leader. The social chairman is La Raine Zaugg. The Health chairman is Karen Page and Kathy Davis serves as demonstration chairman. Lorena Reed is kept busy as secretary. The girls held a demonstration for their mothers recently and have planned some interesting projects. The folks in West Point are to miss Jack and Geneve Putnam who with their children Jackie, Melinda, and Robin have moved to Las Vegas. As Jackie is .graduating from Davis High this year she has not yet left for Las Vegas but is staying with an aunt in Kaysville until after graduation so that she may graduate with her friends. Charles and Mildred Bauman who are serving in the Southwest 'Indian Mission sent greetings to their friends at home and thank 'all (hose who have sent letters. They are being kept very busy. They are out in the desert near the Grand Canyon on Route 66 between Flagstaff and Kingman. The town is called Peach Springs. There is no other missionaries within 100 miles of them. Mildred said that she gives all the Relief Society lessons, teaches Primary, MIA and Sunday School in addition to trading. They are enjoying their work.
