THE BASKETBALL team of the LDS Church from St. George were on their way to play with a Logan Ward Sunday when they noticed church was being held in Sunset Ward so they stopped in and visited. SUNSET Second Ward presented their MIA three act play in the ward chapel, Wednesday night, March 11. The name for all wards Sunset plays is Eternally Peggy. Ward presented their version of the same Tuesday night, March 17. OPEN HOUSE for Henry D. Call will be held April 17 at the Clinton Elementary school beginning at 7 p.m. Mr. Call has been C aching for 40 years and is now retiring at the close of this years school term. Everyone interested is invited to attend, wishing Mr. Call well and greeting him for his many years of service in teaching our children. Many of our parents had him for a teacher. Mrs. Beth Peterson, a third grade teacher at Sunset Elementary School was suddenly attacked with a tumor. Doctors also found cancer had started and operated to removed them both. Mrs. Peterson has been very ill but is feeling better now. Mrs." Norma Dalton, Mrs Carol Tribe and Mrs. Lowell Bickmore have been serving as substitute teachers. T1IE SPRINGTIME stake dance is to be held Saturday night at the North- Davis stake house, March 21. The Sunset Third Ward is host and they have planned a floor show and refreshments. The music will be the very fine George George Fisher orchestra. MIKE HUNSAKER, son of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Hunsaker, is enjoying the Cub Scouts in Troop 200. Recently he was thrilled at the Blue and Gold banquet which is an annual event. This year it was held at the Sunset Elementary School and the mothers each furnished a dish of the food. Mike is very much interested in the activities of scouts and is enjoying making the useful things they make and do in scouting. Eldren Butler a former teacher of Clinton Elementary will be the new principal of that school, to succeed H. D. Call, who is retiring this year. LaMar Stuart, principal of the Pioneer Elementary in Clear were held services Funeral Thursday, March 19, at the Myers Rose Chapel Mortuary for Andrew Culley, husband of Delpha Brown Culley. Bishop Aldous Johnson presided. The prayer was given by Raymond Terry, a talk by Bishop s Aldous Johnson. Song by Mr. nephew, Mr. White. A talk was given by Bishop Lloyd Berrett followed by a vocal duet by June Reiser and Nancy Tullis after which President Henry Matis spoke and Mrj. Margaret Sorenson sang. THE GIRLS DANCE was held on March' 20, "Island of My Dreams was the theme. The gym was decorated with streamers of three shades of blue across the top, and palm trees in various places as well as fish and nets and also a moon spinning at the top of the gym. Mus'c was furnished by the Blue Notes. The Girls Assn, was in charge. For the benefit of ninth grade students, the Kruder Preference Vocational tests were given on March 6. On March 19 students filled out profiles.
