On July 27, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Arave entertained Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Wessel and children, Linda and Milton, Mr. and Mrs. William Wessel of Lincoln, Neb., and' Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Hall and their five children of Yuma, Ariz., Mrs. Lucas Wessel Is the former Margaret Arave and Mrs. Hall is the former Dorothy Arave, both formerly of Hooper. Several people from Hooper attended the family reunion of Thomas E. Jones held at Lorin Farr Park in Ogden last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cottle spent last week at Lava Hot Springs, vacationing. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Parlsen visited at Sun Valley, Idaho last week end. Keith MeCloy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford (Bub) MeCloy, received his dicharge from the Navy last week and is home to stay. Howard Cox was injured while in Wyoming and spent two days in the Dee hospital in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Thurgood entertained at a barbeque at their home last week. Ray Patterson have been visiting relatives and friends in Nyssa, Oregon. Paul and Ray Child, sons of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Child are vacationing in California with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Child and family and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bingham have spent the past week in Yellowstone Park. Myron B. Child Jr., who has spent the past two and one half years on a mission in Norway arrived home on Sunday, Aug. 3. He visited the World Fair in Belgium and on to London before coming home. A welcome home testimonial will be held in the Clinton Ward chapel on Sunday Aug. 10 at 7:30 pjn. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Carnahan and daughter Kathy and Mr. and Mrs. Bell Summers spent the past week at Yellowstone Park. Mrs. Marie Patterson and her 4 H Club took first place for the second year in a row at the Camp at Monte Cristo for their 4kit in talent, Mrs. Vera Wallace and Bemeice Mitchell won first place for the cleanest camp. The Mia Maid and first year Beehive girls entertained their mothers at a fashion show on Tuesday evening at Mutual. The girls looked lovely in their latest fashion and refreshments were served to the mothers. Tresa Child of Roy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Child and Ellen hild, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Child, have spent the week visiting their grandmother, Mrs. Loretta Rice. Evan Lyman of Georgia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lyman of Clinton is visiting with his parents. The Mitchell family reunion will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Clinton Park. All are asked to bring their own lunch. Drinks will be furnished. Their will be games, prizes and a program. Norris Adams announced Sunday that all boys and girls may skate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday free of charge at the ice rink in the Colesium. Children must take their own skates or pay a small fee to rent them. Otherwise the skating is free. Harlan Bybee, son of Mr. and Clarence Bybee is visiting here with his parents. His home is in Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Ross and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. Judson Tbur-goo- d have spent the week vacationing in Yellowstone Park. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clifford and Thursday at the Clearfield Park, fishing and visiting relatives in Idaho and Nyssa, Ore. Miss Sharon Ross celebrated her 13th birthday on the first part of 4-- well and out with us again. Miss Lucy Taylor spent the Week in Yellowstone and Idaho with the family of Mr, and Mrs. Dick Lewis and family of Hooper. Miss Katherine and Dello Kingston!, daughters of Mr. and and Mrs. Merle Kingsford are spending two weeks in Washington at the home of relatives. Visiting in Riverdale this week from Clearlake Oaks, Calif., (near Sacramento) is Mr. and Mrs. James Carter. Mrs. Carter is the mother of David H., John and Neil Taylor. The missionary homecoming for President and Mrs. Thomas S. Bingham, recently released as head of the South Australian Mission, will be held the evening of Aug. 24 In the Riverdale Ward. Mrs. Mary Dunn is up from Los Angeles for a visit with her and daughter, Herman and Pemeica FieL The new Beeline station on Riverdale Road which was built by rt Heiko Boekweg has been leased and opened by Junior Bingham. Mr. Bingham, son of Rowland and Kathryn Bingham, was born and raised in Riverdale. He and his wife, the former Ladonna Gomm, and their three children hope to move back to Riverdale from Sunset soon. Returning from a family reunion at Twin Falls last Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Max Ritter and family met with an Occident. Hie girl driver of the vehicle Max was passing swerved to miss a chuck-hol- e in the. road, throwing itself into their path. Luckily they escaped with nothing more serious than bruised knees for Ruth anil a caved grillwork for their car. A son was born to Vincent and Rose (Marks) Toscan on July 14 at St 'Benedict Hospital. He will be given the name of Vincent Phillip.. Mrs. Toscan said the infant is the first grandson on the Toscan side of the family. He was blessed by his father and grandfathers Charles Dalton and Rulon Sheffer and Uncle Darrell Dalton assisted.
