A j happy wedding anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kap on the 12th of July. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Kendell and vacation children enjoyed a 10-da- in Yellowstone National Park. They returned to their home Friday. Sam Moore of Nyssa Ore., formerly of South Weber, who has recently been released from the bishopric, has been sustained in the presidency of the stake High Priests in Nyssa. Congratulations Sam on this new calling. Seventeen girls from our ward spent last week at Camp Lamonde. Sunday evening services there were furnished by our ward. The Deacons and Priests left to help with the sacrament and also a member of the bishopric and a number of the girls parents. This made our sacrament meeting low in attendance. Girls from my Sunday School class who were at camp were Linda Poll. Norma Earl, Linda Wilson, Margaret Bigelow, June Bybee, Ilene Stark. These girls report they had a grand time. Judy Ann Harmon, daughter of Boyd and Venna Harmon entered the contest Name the Mountains on Engineer Rons" TV program, and won second place. She sent in the name of the "Twain Mountains" Congratulations Judy. They will elect their own government including two senators who will represent Utah at Boys Nation at Washing ton D. C. The boys will also hear lectures by some of the states leading politicians, legislators and executives. The boys will be transported by bus. Richards was chosen by his high scholastic record and his activity in ail sports at Davis High. They left Saturday July 7th and will return on the 14th. Richard just recently returned from a 10 day trip with the Masqle and Gavel Speech Club from Davis High. Thirty one in all attended his tour. It was to the Black Hills of South Dakota. While there they saw the world famous play "The Life of Christ." They also toured Yellowstone park, Denver, Colo., Cheyenne, Wyo.; and saw all points of interest along the way. They charted a new bus and their teacher Mrs. Eva Berret along with two chaperones accompanied them. He is a 11th grade student at .Davis High and was chosen as a delegate to represent Davis at the Junior Red Cross training center to be held at the USAC in Logan, July 29th to Aug. 4th. He is very active in sports and participates In all activitiy in his ward. He is secretary of the YMMLA and Is vice president of the Masque and Gavel Club and was manager of the Junior varsity basketball team. The club is holding a party on July 26th at the home of George Wilcox to show pictures taken on their tour. Congratulations to you Richard and keep up the good record. Sacrament meeting Sunday evening was conducted by Bishop Dale Poll. Mr. Van Drimmilin from the high council was visiting here, also Mr. and Mrs. Shire and son from Australia who met Donn aand Beverly Poll, while they were serving in the mission field. They each gave a short talk and told of their travels while in' Utah and expressed their strong testimonies of the gospel. They are converts to the LDS church and wanted to thank the elders who brought the gospel to them Invocation was offered by William Comia and the speaker for the evening was Elder "Orville Shrceve" who gave a very inspirational talk. Ruth Mathis was sustained speech director of the MIA and Annette Ray was sustained as chorister. Congratulations to you both. In the Sunday School Mrs. Stella Roll was released as coordinator of the Junior Sunday School with a vote of thanks for her faithful service. At Nyssa, Ore , they stayed overnight with Mr and Mrs. Wayne Simpson. While there they attended church and visited all of the former Hooperites. At Portland, Ore., they visited Mr. and Mrs Keith (Melba Penman) Steck, Mr. and Mrs Thomas Orton and Mrs. Richard Carter. They went to see the Rose Gardens and ML Hood at Portland. They then came on down the coast to Albany where they visited with Mr. and Mrs Melvin Giles. Kenneth Giles, a son of Melvin, and nephew of Ellis, came home with them to visit for a while. They went to San Francisco where they visited the Cinerama and Chins Town, then went to Sacramento, Reno, and back home Hah enjoyed sleeping under a electric blanket so well while visiting the Giles at Albany, her brother in law surprised her by sending her one through the mail. It seems that everyoe who we to Yellowstone this year enjoyed themselves very much and caught all the fish they could eat. There were so many Hooperites up there this year, they decided to hold their own Sunday school and MIA. Velma Reads Lemon Chiffon Pie PHONE Chill cup whipping cream and crush graham crackers or vanilla wafers to 54 cup full. (It take about 18 vanilla wafers). Set aaidi till the following is completed. Cook over boiling water till thick enedr 2 well beaten agg yolks 6 tbs. sugar V cup lemon Juke Vt tsp. lemon rind Cool, then fold in 2 stiffly beater egg whites. Add 2 tbs. augar while beating. Chill. Then fold in the whipped cream. Butter on 8 or 9 inch pie plate and sprinkle with Vi of the crumbs Pour in the mixture and cover with remaining crumbs. Freeze unti. ready to serve. Velmas Jellied Fruit Salad 1 pkg. lemon jello eiissolved ir 2 cups hot tomatoe juice. 1 Add tsp. Worchestershire Sauce and 1 tsp. vanilla. Cool unti. it starts to set then add choppec green pepper, diced celery anc peas and 1 can shrimps. Let set ir refrigerator and serve on lettuci leaf.
