F. Cottle j Today's column is dedicated to any woman simply for making her home a place of such peace a pel' delight that her family might rightfully rise up and call her blessed. I do not believe we should rail a housewife a housewife, - They are in reality a home- maker! A recent study informs us that the average homemaker is worth between $150 to $108 per week. She has a true profession, an- cient, honorable and unique. She flavors the food she put In the cart at the supermarket. Takes charge of the children from a runny nose to a question about a date. Woman's work may or may not be monotonous, frustrating or never finished. Daily needs are: pots and pans, laundry and beds. Cookery and dishes. Be alert and agreeable at all limes trying to please the whole family. Some women find the same dull round of chores forever asking to be done over again. They learn how to compel e in the market place and how to recover when it to have to ansis wer the questions of children. Vet, like any profession, the prizes as well as the perils of a career are all theirs. What more can one ask of a profession? ' Mr. and Mrs. Keith Egbert spent sometime recently in Downey, Idaho, visiting with relatives. Miss Tatty Burson is recovering at home from a few days of the flu. Mr. Boyd Call was released fi'Qm the Dee Hospital and returned to his home, Monday, Mar. 25. Missionary Nows j William E. Women by environment have been indoctrinated in spite of herself with the elements of housewifery; into perfectionists in her own nest. A hundred years ago there were few other female careers. But nowadays women fcave as many occupations open to them as men and can be as selective in embracing them. Name a career and it is within her reach. Therefore, when they choose to be housewives, they were only exercising freewill, with heads high and eyes open. Today the marriage rate is higher and the marriage age earlier and the children more numerous than they have been. The domestic arts appear more appealing than we maintain Isnt it lucky where men and children come home to sleep or eat or brag of their successes or experiences or to be comforted? Homemakers are displaying that comfort. This is the refreshment for body and spirit waiting at the days end. Surely, God must love homemakers. Surely families should Ioe them. Column No. 641.
