The first petition presented to the council by Frew was , for and was voted down unanimously by the planning 8 3-- 2 R-4- would ap Three new programs added to Job Corps Mose Watkins, Director of Clear field Job Corps Center, announced today the addition of three new programs which should be of vital interest to intermountam unemployed 16 21 year olds The new' programs will include Additional college scholarships for the high potential leadership An advanced automotive training to ix spearheaded by the United Auto Workers Association, And a Health Services Occupations piogram with instruction provided by Westminister College staff at Clearfield Center These three programs will become valuable additions to the many vocational otferings already av ailable to unemployed, unskilled in- termountam youth The Job Corps program continues to 90 percent of its graduates. is allowed up to a two year stay on Center or in the Job Corps place A ov er student college program Most of the scholarships available have been donated by schools, Clearfield Center employees, Thiokol Corporation, and-o- r community friends The Department of Labor w ill the scholarship now augment program for those Corpsmembers from the Center who have shown excellent leadership qualities and ha e earned their CED or High School Diploma Mr Watkins stated that details on how to apply for the programs and potential college scholarships may be obtained through Employment Security offices or by calling the Center at 773 1433, extension 322 323 Licenses available May the Holiday Season inspire Peace and Love within all of our hearts . and the hope for Peace within the years to come.
