Sympathy is extended to Wes-le- y Stokes and his family. Mr. Stokes' brother from North Ogden passed away last week. Back in Roy after a trip to Chicago for business reasons is Larry Wilcox. Joe Arvae has also been out of town but for a different reason. He has been out on a hunting trip. A surprise going away party was held (recently for Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brian who have sold their home in Roy and are moving next week to Salt Lake City. Friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrrs. Kay an outdoor barbe-shrdl- u zerg for the party and presented the couple with an outdoor barbe-coupl- e with an outdoor barbecue grilL Mr. Brian has been transferred by .the Williamson Co., to Salt Lake and he will also attend school at the University of Utah while there. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Russell and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson were the guest of the Royal Harrops Saturday night at their home. Misses Kei Wan Yen and Quong Ho, two Chinese girls fom Hong Kong were also guests to the patio dinner given by the Harops. Best wishes for a speedy recovery go to Jay Caldwell who has spent some time in the hospital recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn M. Austin have just returned from a business trip to the Mr. Austin is an executive scout with the Lake Bonneville council and attended some meetings there. The Ladies Fire Auxiliary have planned 'a steak fry for September 30. The ladies and their fireman husbands will enjoy the dinner at the fire station. Regular meetings of the auxiliary will begin in October. Charles Hull, Roy resident and city councilman, is in St. Louis, Mo., on TDY for Hill Air Force Base. He has been gone for will be Margaret Masters who will narrate the show. Mary Lynn Clifford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clifford, won second attendant to Miss Utah State Fair. She was also chosen as Miss Congenilaty and received a beautiful trophy. Brent Johnsoon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Johnston was chosen to compete on Nov. 21 for his talent contest that he won at the State Fair. Brent was chosen with five others as winner in the senior talent. He will now try for a trip with his talent on Nov. 21 for a trip to Chicago. Boy Scout troops of John Diamond are asking all deer hunters to donate their deer skins to them to help with their scout funds. Annette Mitchell and Katherine Summers were sustained as new Sunday school teachers. Mrs. Elizabeth Ross is spending two weeks visiting in Lay-to- n with Mr. and Mrs. Vern Ross. LaMonte Burnett, son of Mrs. Lola Burnett returned home this week from a two year mission in the Western States. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Ross had as guests on Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Worthington and daughter of Michigan. Mr. Worthington and Mr. Ross were missionary companions in the Eastern States mission field.
