The family of Ervin and Nola Cox spent most of the week vacationing at Bear Lake. With them were their children Ann, Janice e and Evelyn and Gordon and with their children Sheri Lynn, Ranae and Neil. Als oenjoying a few days of vacation at summer camp were the girjs of the Hooper Second Ward MIA. There were about 35 girls participating and the leaders who accompanied them were Arlene Hooper, who is their MIA president, Vera Belnap and Leila Cot-tacounselors; and Lillian Simpson and Nola Jean Moore. Cray-thom- No-len- LAST TUESDAY night Margie Thurgood had a slumber(?) party for the girls of her Mutual class. Her guests included Leann Fow-ers- , Larue Batchelor, Donna Manning, Marsha Paice, Janet Higley, Karen Jones, Roberta Kite, Anne Cottle, and Colleen Flinders. Several new arrivals in our town were given a name and blessing at sacrament meeting Sunday. Kay and Shirley Hooper named their daughter Susan Kay; Donald and Margaret Fowers gave their little girl the name Debbi Lou. Carl and LuAnna Fowers named their baby Carol Ann, Kent and Bonnie Higley named theirs Jan and Melvin and Janean Thorpe Fowers named their new daughter Carrie Ann. MAY SMITH just returned from a trip with her brother Cliff and his wife, Lena and daughter Connie of Salt Lake City. They drove out to Vernal and to the Dinosaur Monument. They went through the Uintahs to Flaming Gorge Dam. They were gone three days. OUT OF town guests still visiting Cec and Gladys Frew are Warren and Klea Mjers and family of Tulsa, Okla. They will return home this weekend. Another slumber party held this week was hosted by Gerry Hadley. Her guests were Linda Fowers, Ann Craythorne, Karen Flinders, Ranae Jones and Glenda. Milton L. Beasley of Shelley, Idaho, passed away Monday. He is a former resident of Hooper and a brother of George LeRoy Beasley. He was 87 years of age. LeRoy Beasley went to Idaho last spring and baptized his brother into the LDS Church. The outing was enjoyed by Norman, Velma, Leanna, , Gaye and Rayma. . t Jonnie Peterson is in the Sweet Thompson Pound hos- pital following an emergency hernia operation. He is the two year old son of Herb and Wanda Peterson. A fe wdays was thoroughly rest at Fish Lake enjoyed by Vera and Retg Parker this week. They went with Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson of Layton and Lloyd and Leone Fowers of Ogden. The group stayed at Andersons cabin on the lake shore. They spent one day viewing scenery through the Wayne Wonderland. FRESH UTAH t SWEET KLONDYKE CLINTON NEWS Jr. Gleaners and Jr. M Men held social at the Clinton Park on in Leaders evening. Tuesday charge were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wallace. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Draayer and family spent the past week fishing at Hebcgan Lake in Montana. MRS. BERNEICE Mitchell, Mrs. Erma Ross, Mrs. ReNee Nelson, Mrs. Florence Child, Mrs. Betty Heiner, and James Mitchell attended a lovely supper and social at the Syracuse chapel on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Bevan spent the past week visiting in California. A highlight of their trip was the trip to Disneyland with their children. All BeeHive girls of the ward enjoyed the North Davis Stake day at Como on Saturday. GUIDE BOYS of the ward spent Tuesday at Camp Kiesel with their leader, Mrs. Virginia Child. Betty Anderson of Canada has arrived from Canada to spend time living with her grandparents, Mr. anr Mrs. Frank Patterson. Mr. and Mrs. George Beus are visiting in Montana with their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Wavne Beus. MISS JANET ROSS, Joan Hill and Virginia Clifford spent Tuesday evening at a bridal shower in honor of Miss Darlene Sessions of Clearfield. Mrs. Loretta Rice and Mrs. Ada Child left on Sunday with a group on the BYU tour of the eastern states. They will attend on Thursday, Aug. 6 the Mormon Pageant at the Hill Cummorah. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Ross and family spent the past week in Yellowstone Park, The Fundalay for all Primary Trailbuilder boys was held on the Clinton Park on Thursday evening. Parents of the Boys ward presidency and stake and ward leaders were special guests.
