The area expenditure are part of an $18 million 1956 Utah Power and Light system construction program that will include start on a new 100,000 kilowatt, $13 million steam-eleetnplant, the aita of which win be announced after fuel and water studies are completed In addition, the construction sched ule calls for installation of new and improved service facilities the utilitys service throughout area Orson M Slack, UPALs division manager at Ogden, said the com pany's 1956 construction program will bring to $142 million the amount the firm and Its subsidiary. Western Colorado Power Company have spent for construction and expansion since the end of World War II Five new c dollar generating units have been constructed in Utah Mr Slack said most of the work in this area will be centered on improving customer service by expanding line equipment and capacity to meet expanding industrial and residential loads Almost one half million dollars will be spent at the Riverdale substation near Ogden to increase transformer capacity to transform high voltage power to a voltage suitable to serve residential and commercial distribution Other major improvement in the area include line extensions to serve new rural town and Industrial customers erection of street lights in various Ogden division communities c ASST.
