The 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of Sunset Elementary School held a sort of western party Friday April 17, in the back play grounds. They sold hot dogs and hamburgers, round drinks and had a merry-gand rides. The proceeds of which will go for shrubery for the school groundr. Dan Lynch, retired after 34 years as a fireman, organized Sunset Fire Department on Jan. 1, 1958. Mr. Lynch worked at Hill AFB for 17 years, has a total of about 19 years in tivn seivite, and is now chief of the department, working on a pa.t time oasis. It costs to turnish fire protection, he says, but the cost is oltset by cheaper insurance. In 1958 the department answered 21 calls, and losses were held to an estimated $3,280.
