Steinoker heats up Steinaker reservoir is a great family fishery in northeastern Utah. Spring fishing pressure is still light, but as the water temperature continues to rise, the fishing action will become hot and heavy. Once the water temperature reaches around 50 degrees, the rainbow trout will really begin to put on the feed, says Ed Johnson, fisheries biologist in the northeastern region for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Now that the ice is off Steinaker, fish are getting hungry and looking for food. Trolling has worked best, but as the water warms, bait fishing from the bank will be just as productive. |
