This has resulted in many inquiries directed to the Utah State Medical Association and other associations. For your information, we would like to point out that the number of doctors in the U. S. has increased faster than the general population. In 1960 there were 252,984 doctors or one physician for every 737 people. At the end of 1965 the number rose to 292,088 or one physician for every 681 people. Projecting this into the future, it is estimated that the population of the U. S. will be 230 million in 1975 and the AMA Council on Medical Education estimates 360,000 doctors, or one for every 638 people. There are now 88 medical schools vention city. and about 20 more are expected by Grant ONeil, Glen Parker, 1975.
