Mrs. Harold Cooper was Election of officers took place and the following were installed: Pres-idenMrs. Neuschwander; vice president, Mrs. Pete Jean-selm- e; recording secretary, Mrs. Joe Freeman; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Leon Jones; treasurer, Mrs. Chester Thomas; chaplain, Mrs. Fred Jones, and guard, Mrs. J. Grant Kilfoyle. Mrs. Earl McAlpine, outgoing president, thanked her officers and presented each member with a colored snapshot of the PEO group. Mrs. Joe Freeman thanked Mrs. McAlpine for the many hours she devoted as president, and, as a personal reminder of Chapter B affection and good wishes, presented Mrs. McAlpine with a PEO centennial charm. Refreshments were served from a table interesting with St. Pat- -' rick motifs. t, PRICE, UTAH E, Thursday, March 24, 1964 Utahna No. 39 Participates in 64th State Rebekah Session A local lodge, Utahna No. 39, seated past presidents of the Rebekah Assembly of Utah as it met in its 64th annual session March 3, 4 and 5 in the Crystal Room of Newhouse Hotel, Salt Lake City. Mrs. Fannie Jankovich of Tooele, president, presided. The past presidents, dressed in formal gowns, were escorted into the room by Utahnas Noble Grand, a past president herself, Catherine Wright of Helper, Mae Snow and Ethel T. Binch. Mrs. Wright remained at the conjunction while Mrs. Snow and Mrs. Bir.ch conducted toeir lines in opposite directions to form a V. Mrs. Wrirint introduced the past presidents. Mrs. Binch lighted the golden tapers given tnem by Utahna in commemoration of the 1866 golden anniverasry of the local lodge. After compliments by Utahnas three participants, the past presidents were given gifts by Mrs. Snow. Eva Smith, junior past noble grand of Utahna, attending as a delegate and committee member, was presented with a certificate showing the local lodge to be a member of the 206 per cent club of the World Eye Bank, only lodge in the state to be so honored. Other highlights were talks oy the sovereign grand master of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of the World; grand encampment of the Grand Lodge of IOOF, held at the same time as the auxiliaries. Delegates sent to the Uni led Nations Pilgrimage, Vicki Lewis, a niece of Mrs. Wright, and Jerry Freeman, reported on their trip. Jaycettes See Film The Price Jaycettes met at the Crest Cafe, March 10 for their monthly meeting. Those present enjoyed seeing a film on interior decorating presented by Edwin Olson and Gary Gibson. After the program business matters were discussed. A committee was for nominations formed with Agnes Prichard as chairman. Final plans were made for the childrens movie project. Alakazam the Great which was shown March 19 at the Price City Hall, the proceeds going to the Carbon County Nursing Home. Regrets were voiced at the absence of Rose Seeley, president of the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies, who was snowbound in Wyoming. A public installation of the Grand Encampment of IOOF and Rebekah Assembly was held jointly. Mrs. Ethel Binch, Helper, was instated banner bearer of the Rebekah Assembly of Utah. A drill of the Rebekah State Dn!l team won plaudits from the audience and closed the three-du- y meetings. Forest Auxiliary Meets Tne Forest Auxiliary ladies held their monthly meeting in Ferron at the home of JoAnn Behling. A baby shower was given for Trudy Birkmeyer and Kathleen Schultz. The tables were decorated with small diaper-shape- d favors filled with candies and nuts. A delicious salad and nut bread were served for refreshments by Doris Nelson and Verna Francis. Montie Snow, Price, announce the engagement of their daughter Marcia to Ray Owen Madsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin W. Madsen of Salt Lake City. Miss Snow is a senior at 'the University of Utah where she has been an officer in Lambda Delta Sigma and is majoring in education. Her fiance also is attending the University of Utah after completing an LDS mission to Hong Kong, No definite date for the wedding has been set. Fossat Photo. Large Audience Attends New Century Program A charming program of music was aptly presented to a large audience the evening of March 9 by the New Century Double Trio at Carbon Stake Center. The program, narrated by Helen Bunnell and accompanied by Ruth Dart, opened with three patriotic selections by the vocalists, Your Land and My Land, and America the Beautiful Poor. Give Me Your Tired-YoPerformers were Janet Bird, Bonny Biyson, LaRue Breinholt, Velma Frandsen, Colleen Neeley and Katie Johnson. Joan Jones played Fifth Concerto for Violin, by Mozart and Young Prince and Princess" from Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korseko- v. ur The trio sang a group of fun songs: The Syncopated Clock, Lady Elks Schedule Fashion Show-Lunc- h Saturday Afternoon The Price Ladies of Elks are plotting and planning a public fund raising fashion show and luncheon March 26 at the Elks Home at 1:30 p.m. According to Mrs. Elvain Gibson, chairwoman, the fashions will be appropriately keyed to Springtime on Parade, and will be described by Mrs. Gary Bliss. Luncheon will procede the show. Last year, the proceeds made possible the purchase of a wheelchair and unbreakable dishes do- nated to tire Ann Self Opportunity Center. Again, the profits will be used for a worthy cause, so public support is solicited. As a big bonus, the gifted Gary Amano will perform on the piano. Toni Poloni will be featured vocalist. The Charlotte Young Ballet also will perform.
