The state Republican convention is August 4 and the county Republican convention is August 11. Where more than two have filed for the same office, there will be a convention contest followed by 19, 1956 Plans Ready for Big July 24 Celebration the primary contest. In instances where only two candidates have filed for each office then only the primary contest faces the candidates before the final election. Where only one candidate has filed, he automatically becomes his partys nominee for the election battle which terminates with the general election on November 6. Following is a list of candidates filed to date for the various state and county offices: With a few minor changes in directing personnel, plans are now complete for the annual Wellington Pioneer Days celebration that will begin with a rodeo Monday night, July 23, and continue to the end of the big western dance Tuesday night, July 24. High attractions of the celebration will include two top notch rodeos, two western dances with music furnished by the popular Burdick family band, a parade, program, ball d game, pony rides, sports, and concession. The program for the two days will be as follows: Rodeo, Monday, July 23, at the rodeo arena east of Wellington beginning at 8 p.m., and a western dance that night at 9:30 in the .open air dance hall by the park. The parade forms at the dry ice plant and begins at 11 a.m. The line of march will be west on Main street from the dry ice plant lane to the school house, then north on First West to First North, and then West to the church house, where the parade will disband. Immediately following the parade, a program will be held in the park.
