Sale of special bow permits are nearing 1800 this year compared to 777 sold during the entire season of 1954. The department said field reports covering the archery shoot indicated many bow hunters have been successful in bagging their animal. Whether the 20 per cent hunter success of the 1954 season will be reached this year cannot be known until all records are on file after the season is finished.
