Show THE Page Two SUN-ADVOCAT- DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES DISCUSS Military Training QUALIFICATIONS AT MONDAY MEET In Reserve Corps Is Voluntary The Carbon County Democratic state Democratic party. Womens club met in the club room of the Price municipal build- ing Monday evening and had as its guests Democratic candidates who are aspiring for places on the Democratic ticket for the election this fall. Mrs. Charles Semken, president of the county group, presided and opened the meeting after which she turned the gavel over to Mrs. Lena Bartlett. Mrs. Bartlett, a candidate for county recorder, declined to direct the meeting and Mrs. Quentin Wilcox then presided for the remainder of the evening. The musical portion of the program was under the direction of Mrs. E. K. Olson, and Elwood Miller rendered several vocal numbers. Following the musical program, Mrs. Wilcox introduced the candidates who spoke briefly stating their qualifications for the offices for which they had filed. speakAmong the ers were E. J. McPolin from Summit county who is seeking the nomination as United States representative from the First Congressional district in Utah. Representative Walter K. Granger was unable to be present due to car trouble encountered in southern Utah and was represented by Mrs. Elva Bell of Ogden, his secretary. Another speaker from out of the county was Mrs. C. L. Jack, Salt Lake City, vice chairman of the County delegates present were Frank Bonacci, Helper, incumbent candjdate for state representative from district 1; E. K.
