Main Half a dozen persons barely escaped death recently at Consumers. when a huge boulder, estimated between 1! 2 and 2 tons, crashed through the house of Mr. and Mrs. Golden Day. The rock, loosened from its precarious position on the mountainside by thawing ground, oiled down upon the Day home, which is situated at the foot of the hill, nocking the building six inches from its foundation, and totally wrecking one side. So intense was the jar, that every dish was broken, and most of the furniture smashed. Members of the family, including Mr. Day, his son. Kenneth, and Luke Millich, father of Mrs. Day, had gathered around the bedside of the latter, who, thirty minutes previously, had given birth to a son. No thought of any danger existed, until the sound of the advancing boulder reached them. As expressed by Mr. Millich, their escape was nothing short of a miracle. Bee-IIiv- at 9:00 P.
