Helper County recorder Mis. Katie Liddell, Wellington County attorney Marl D. Gibson, Puce County assessor bilos Rowley, incumbent County surveyor Earl O. Anderson, incumbent ! Selecting six of eleven candidates by acclamation, Democrats of Car- bon county Friday evening named their county and state legislative ticket at a convention which was conducted in considerable contrast to the exciting and bitterly fought affair it was expectod to be. In addition to 83 delegates, approximately 550 people attended the convention. With the exception of the sheriff post, all of the contested nominations were decided on one ballot. The withdrawal of several candidates and the decision of a number of others seeking the commissionership to come out for the short term instead of the four-yeterm for which they had announced themselves simplified the convention proceedings. Six incumbents were renominated, five of themby acclamation, namely, Silas Rowley, assessor; Brigham H. Young, clerk; Reese M. Reese, treasurer; Earl O. Anderson, surveyor, and Mrs. D. C. Gibson, state representative. Although there were six candidates in the race for two-yecommissioner, David L. Parmley of Consumers, incumbent, won on the first ballot by polling 44 votes out of ar ar 82 cast His opponents received the following number of votes: Fred M. Civish, Columbia, 15; Lawrence Hyatt, Castle Gate, 10; Otto Reichert, Price, 6; Carl Nyman, National, 5, and Irvin Gerber, Wellington 2. G. G. Lindstrom of Spring Canyon, a candidate indorsed by the United Mine Workers of America, was named Mrs. Gibsons running mate. He was high man in the balloting, polling 72 Vi votes. Mrs. Gibson received 60 Vi votes, while C. W. Gilner and H. P. McCardle of Price received 17 and 15 votes, respectively. Mrs. Katie Liddell of Wellington won the nomination for recorder in a decisive manner, getting 54 votes as compared to 23 for William H. Toy of Price and 6 for Mrs. Maynue Jameson, incumbent. Three ballots were taken on the sheriff nomination before F. P. (Joe) Fisher of Helper, former county commissioner, was successful in obtaining a majority. Seven candidates were in the race, and on the first ballot, Mr. Fisher received 31 votes, 10 more WESTMINSTER TO than his nearest rival, Robert J. One of the surprises of the convention was the withdrawal of Walter C. Gease, incumbent, who has been the partys nominee in the past two elections. In the final eontpst of the convention, William A.
