Show pack bigiit CARBON DISTRICT SCOUT' TRAINING SESSIONS BEGIN LICENSE BALES TOTAL 2122 Fourteen automobile and truck licence plates were sold Saturday at the Price branch bureau, according to a report made by Albert Kay, assistant director of the office. The total sales for the year are 2122, Mr. Kay said. Tlmpanogos Council Executive Conducts Meetings; Four More Courses Planned. Approximately 40 acoutera of the Carbon district have enrolled In the approved scout leadership course being conducted by A. A. Anderson, chief executive of the council. The first session was held at the high school Friday evening, at which time instruction was given concerning troop organization and activities connected with tenderfoot scouting. The second session was devoted to the teaching of leadership training for second class scouts and to competing lha tenderfoot work inaugurated at the first meeting. W. W. West, leadership director of the Carbon district urges all scoutmasters, troop committeemen, church officials, district leaden and Vanguard officials to attend the courses. The need of trained leaders in scouting la regarded as very Important Mr. West feels that the Instruction made available at the present time will be a big factor in filling this need. .The Carbon district Is planning the most active year In its history, and the development of leadership is expected to mean much in the successful staging of the outlined program. The training meetings were originally scheduled for Friday evening of each week, but it was decided to hold the sessions every Wednesday. Four more courses will be given under Mr. Andersons direction. All acouters completing the work will be eligible for training certificates issued by the National council six-we- ek Timp-anog- oa . DEATHS ELIZABETH ANN ROWBURY Funeral services were held Wednesday at Huntington for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Rowbury, Emery county pioneer, who died Sunday. Mrs. Row-n bury had been a resident of Hunting-tofor 51 years. She was bom in Fountain Green November 17, 1863, a daughter of John L. Jewkes and Rebecca Thornton Jewlces. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Annie Lott and Mrs. Lydia Seven Price entertainer will present a musical program Sunday at the United States Veterans hospital in Salt Lake City.
